Gin is a very low yeast and histamine drink and along with white rum and vodka one of the safest to drink if one has Psoriasis...

I drink my gin with lemonade and bitters(just a drop)...zero aggravation of p

..not sure about Tonic though..a bit sour for me and isn't quinine an anti malarial and  anti malarials are  documented  as one of the drugs that can activate /aggravate Psoriasis (along with lithium based anti depressents, some NSAIDS, beta blockers and interferon)

Interesting...thanks for that. I may stick to gin and vodka then.
Also my spirits of choice BEFORE the diet where good irish whisky and dark rum!!
Maybe that didnt help the P!

Thanks Charles,

I will keep the parsley out or in very small amounts for a while.

as for me it did seem to aggrivate my P.
I will add it again at some point to see if it was the parsley.

Im enjoying the shake diet and so glad that I found your
website. My skin is about 50% better since being on the diet.
Which i think is no small thing as I have changed nothing else.

I have now been taking the shakes since about 10_05_09 - so nearly
a month...I really hope the clear up continues and cant wait to see
how it is next month.

I havent been keeping great photo evidence as I go and I so wish
that I had taken some pics just before I started shakes.
As it is I am trying to do weekly pics. Some I dont really want to show
just yet...bit body concious...however have added some new elbow and
ankle shots in my gallery...which pretty much show what is happening
with the rest of my P.
( I have it pretty much on most parts of my bod in patches.)

Thanks again Charles and look forward to hearing the otheres results
who are trying this.

Hi, how much of each veg do you add? would 1 cup of each be enough?

Hi,

I would say 1 cup of each enough...if cup not too large.
The onion would be less and the lettace much more.

I chop all my weeks supply up at once and so dont know
exact amounts each day...but im guessing each days shake
has about 1 carrots in it...so if you try and get a similiar volume
of the other ingrediants then you are on the right track.

hope that helps.

you need to have about a third to half blender full of lettace.

Has anyone seen any significant improvement to their scalp using this diet? I have been using 'Barney's formula' for 6 weeks and have seen a reduction in scales on the few patches on my face and hips but have had no evident change to my worst problem area, the scalp. It's just as encrusted as ever.

My scalp is the worst affected. I have almost completed 2 weeks and I have seen a change. Less itching and redness.

the scalp is if anything, more itchy.
but the flakiness and patches on my face are all gone. smooth perfect skin :)
my inner ear is not as crusty or itchy as it usually is.
i'm not complaining, i'll carry on with barneys for now.

My scalp is much better...but I to have found it a little itchy.
In fact my skin generely has felt a little itchy since using the shakes and Barneys....
and the strange thing is I was one of the luckier P sufferers in that
my skin  never really felt itchy before! ( it just looked bloody awful)

So im not sure what the change is...maybe the itchy is a sign its getting better.
Not sure.

ps .. it do use T-Gel shampoo most days...so that probably helps scalp too.

Well the last three weeks on Shake and Barney diet have shown brilliant
results.

I have managed to get a few hours sun...so that has also helped.
( sunlight has always helped my P - but diet seems to have speeded
the use of sun up).

I have also been drinking Coconut Milk, which is yummy, and am waiting
for some Coconut oil to arrive. ( about 1 can of milk spread across 3 days)

Also been drinking Soda water, as an altenative to any other fizzy drinks.
Soda water contains Sodium Barcarbonate which I have heared mixed
reviews about re: P. It does however help to counteract an Acid digestion.

I'm posting this pic of my ankle to show to the diet sceptics on this forum
that diets can work, even though we know it isnt a 'cure, P is incurable,
genetic, an immune problem..blah blah blah.

All I can say is I WISH that I had tried this diet thing before and not relied
on my Derm. Who has NEVER EVER mentioned the possiblilty that some of the
causes of P MAY be related to food and diet.

PS I'm not a saint and have slipped a few times on food and booze.
But only the odd day or so in the week, and then in very SMALL amounts.
The odd cappacino, sandwich, tomato sauce and cider. I have noticed
the P has been slightly worse on the two days following my falling off the waggon.
