Good luck with it nehiyaw;  I'm on day one ... and hoping to achieve some good results.  While my P is not so bad, I'm hoping for a least some management regime and health benefits upon introducing the juicing  into my diet. Like you, I'm armed with Charles' recommendations, together with Madcat's, Totoro's and Gareth's suggestions ..... so have lots of advice from people who have been thru' similar experiences.  Initially I'm doing it for 3 months then reviewing to test it's value to me personally.  But as I have invested in the green star juicer, it's not a quick fix or a fad, it's a lifestyle change; juicing and fresh produce are the future for me;  as I speak I'm looking at Jason Vale's 'the Juice Master' turbo-charge your life in 14 days;  Bernadette Bohan's the Choice Programme; and Carol Vorderman's 30-day plan (however Carol mentions diet which doesn't sit very well with me) - I've convinced myself its not a diet otherwise I will go off the rails.

Fingers crossed - will keep you guys posted!.

Glad all is well with you and looking forward to your post next week.

Hugs
BB

I'm using the 'lepicol psyllium husks' powder mainly because I can get them
at Boots or Holland and Barrett. H&B also have their own version.

I take about 1 -2 teaspoons a day with water.

I like Lepicol 'Healthy bowels ' because it also has added Probiotics.

Welcome to all the new starters on the shakes. Hope it works as
well for you as it has for me. I would also reccomend taking
Vit D3 if you arent already.

Hey Lazza,

Which brand of Lecithin granules are you using?
I mostly see it in softgel form.

Thank

I am currently using:

But I have also used cheaper stuff by You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.  Since lecithin is such a basic substance I don't think it matters much which brand you use.

Slightly off-topic but I'm wondering which alkaline chart we're supposed to trust.
Almost every chart I've seen shows different results, listing a few below..

These are just a few and then you go on You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and it sometimes gives you totally
different results.

For example Figs, highly alkalizing on various charts
but when you go on nutritiondata it shows you an inflammation factor of -25.

For Watermelon, on the acidalkalinediet.com chart it shows as acidic, on the greathealth247.com it shows as highly alkalizing,
on nutritiondata it shows as slightly acidic, on the wolfclinic chart it shows as alkalizing.

So what can we trust?

I didn't think the Inflammation Factor used on nutritiondata.com indicated alkalinity or acidity.  The site says:

"
IF Positives
This food contains known anti-inflammatory nutrients, including monounsaturated fat, selenium, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and folate.

IF Negatives
This food contains known inflammatory nutrients, including arachidonic acid and saturated fat.
"

Yes, but certainly it is annoying when different sources provide completely different data.  It's very hard knowing who to believe.

On day 8 of shake.  Ate pretty bad on Saturday and also drank some beers.

2 days straight with little to no scalp flakes but I'm not putting too much stock in these results.  This has happened before when I travel like I did this weekend, which from a diet standpoint makes no sense because I tend to eat less healthy, sleep less, drink beer, etc.

Trying to think what I do differently on these weekends that cause unexpected positive results...I don't take any vitamins, I eat less meat and less food overall, I don't blow-dry my hair, stress is slightly reduced from not working (although my job isn't that stressful).

Someone from another site mentioned blow-drying as being TERRIBLE for scalp P so I'm going to stop that completely...but that's not for this thread.

Getting back on topic...day 8 and seeing awesome improvements, maybe the shakes are really helping.

Hi,
I've only been having the shakes for a couple of weeks max, but the last few days I've started to get headaches and I don't normally. Has this anyone else had this? Is it a good/bad sign?
