Simon I am 36yrs old, 5 8 and weign 11 stone. I have around 10% body fat and a lot of lean muscle. I have been on the shakes for at least 6 months.

I train 5 days a week with heavy weights and running. For me to be able to continue with my exercise and maintain my weight on this diet I had to adjust. For instance like Totoro I found that all dairy(Don't miss it at all) and red meat is a trigger so I searched for an alternative to red meat which I found with grass fed beef. No reaction whatsoever!!! Makes you wonder what the hell they are they feeding the other cows?!!!!!

To maintain your weight you need to be hitting around 2100 calories a day. I understand this is hard due to such a low calorie count in veg but by adding more fruit and finding meat alternatives that doesn't react with your skin you can remain steady.

I have three raw shakes a day with pure egg white protein and three meals which include cooked veg and chicken/sometimes grass fed beef. It's all in your planning. It can be done.

I am stunned and delighted with my clearing so far and the change in my health and physique.

Great to hear you are doing so well!  My so called physique, that is if a 53 year old can have a physique, has improved tremendously over the months.  I think the combination of eliminating junk foods and consuming these shakes daily has dropped my body fat down to about 15%; it was perhaps 20% when I started.

Hi,

if you add to the shakes i would only add 1 -2 teaspoons.

i take mine in water before breakfast and have 1 teaspoon...sometimes more.

what ever you do is make sure you drink enough liquid with them as they expand
alot.

The psyllium husks I use has dosage of 1-3 tablespoons twice daily.  So obviously go with whatever the recommended dosage is listed.  As totoro says, you must drink at least a full glass of water after taking each dose of psyllium husks or you will get constipated.  And like any supplement, do not take psyllium husks every day; 5x per week is good.  After a period of time you can reduce it to 3x per week before weaning yourself off it entirely.  Although safe, no need to be on the stuff forever.  Stay on it until you think your colon is cleansed.  For myself I plan to quit psyllium husks very soon (..I am on it 3x per week) and then go back on it next year, as an annual cleansing exercise.

Thanks for the replies.. trying to separate emotion, psoriasis and food is a tricky business.. got to the stage where people are looking at me as I walk down the street so I get panicky and muck about with food.. end up skinny, sore and sad..

All I ever seem to do is take things out of my diet so here's to stuffing stuff back in!

If anyone has the time a quick idea of what you eat in a day (around the shakes) would be most welcome.. breakfast being the hardest, gluten/sugar in bread, oats, cereals etc.. brown rice coming out of my ears... egg overdose.. no dairy.. keeping it predominantly alkaline.. are we only left with lemon water?

Thanks again for not making me feel insane when I feel this vulnerable :)

Babyblue I use egg white protein powder. Not much taste to it when combined with shakes. I buy it at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. One 30gm scoop is equal to a 25gms of protein. Pretty cheap.

I buy my grass fed beef from the site below. I usually but in bulk and freeze as it's cheaper.

Lazza That is great dropping to 15%. My advice to you would be to take up some form of exercise to maintain/build muscle because while you are on these shakes you will see massive benefits. Steelem  I didn't see the results right away because it was trail and error for me trying to source protein that didn't react with my skin and eliminating other factors. Just getting my diet right so I didn't go insane with hunger or boredom.

Around 3 months I started to see clearing on my arms and legs but my scalp was resistant until I added psyllium husks. I am currently experiencing severe itching on my scalp but the patches are fading and it's looking good

Best of luck

Thanks for the tip.  Upon losing weight I've noticed that I have also lost a bit of muscle also judging by the amount of weight I lift - that is, I can't lift as much as I used to.  But I'm talking something like being able to bench 200 lbs now versus 210 lbs before, so it's no big deal.  Gaining muscle is really not a goal for me, although I want to retain what I have.  I simply want to be healthy as I can and keep the aging process at bay.  And so doing cardio, for example, is every bit as important to me as lifting weights.

I think you will agree, as will others who've been on this diet for at least 90 days, consuming green shakes, eliminating inflammatory food and taking psyllium husks (to clean the colon) does remarkably good things to one's body.  It's a shame it took getting psoriasis for me to wake up and get on the right track!
