Hi missminni
I can’t do broccoli smoothies either – eek revolting.
But organic baby spinach, organic banana and filtered water......is delicious.
I also like parsley or lettuce with mango. But for clear skin, I recommend using dark leafy greens (i.e.) spinach.
Thanks for the tip about Vita Coco; I will use it if I get desperate. Not something I want to be drinking everyday though, as Vita Coco and similar bottled coconut water is all pasteurized.
They say that Vita Coco only uses flash pasteurization. This type of pasteurization supposedly helps to protect the nutritional value to some extent. But it is still pasteurized.
Although it is certainly a bit of effort until I develop the knack, I would much prefer to crack open a newly picked coconut and drink the fresh raw water, rather than drink something that has been heat treated and been sitting on the supermarket shelf for months.
Although I think Vita Coco would be better than those Thai drinking coconuts they sell in the shops, because there husk has been treated with chemicals for exportation and I am worried about the chemicals soaking through the husk and contaminating the water.
I started off slowly with just a handful of greens and built my tolerance.
They say you should start with 40% of greens and 60% of sweet fruit, and as you build up your tolerance change it to 60% greens and 40% fruit.
Those two links I gave you are both free (the Queen smoothie one has a free three day smoothie detox you can sign up for) and can guide you better than I can. Otherwise, an organic juice mix of baby spinach, celery, apple & ginger is a good way to get use to greens. When I started juicng I could not stand green juice, now I crave it.
Are you doing the regime that totoro suggests in this thread?
