Anyone have experience of taking smoothies for PA
Wonder what mechanism causes reduction of P ?
If it's an anti-inflammatory effect then hopefully it should work for PA
I'm on barney's formula although not the ibuprofen because of MTX (which I'm desperate to stop)
+ added yoghurt and magnesium and high B12 and curcumin
Would be interested to know peoples experience with PA
I don't have P so nothing to go on there with results

I finally made it!  One full year of drinking a green smoothie daily without fail.  That's equal to 90+ gallons of green smoothies.   :o

My psoriasis is now in excellent shape.  My hands are practically clear, my feet are 80+% improved.  In truth it is the elimination of dairy and yeast from my diet that probably contributed most to the clearance.  However I am certain all this nutrition has helped my PPP; its impact on my overall health has been tremendous.  :)

Of course there is no turning back.  I am now a health geek, ... a veritable walking, talking infomercial.  I recently spoke to a fellow at my gym who has suffered from lupus and psoriasis for forty years.  He commented on how good I look (I lost 20 lbs) and I told him about what I am doing and why.  Well he started eating raw fruits/veggies and two months later said he has improved so much he has cut back on his lupus meds to practically nothing.  Certainly made my day!   :)

So keep at it children.  If a middle-aged fart like me can to a 180 degree on his health I am sure anyone can.   ;D

WAY TO GO LAZA!!! It is amazing how much better a person can look and feel on this program and the shakes. I'm almost 40 and I look and feel better than when I was 28. (Still get carded now and then ha ha)

Your commitment has been fun to follow and I'm glad you could experience the difference diet can make.

May I please quote those encouraging words on my website's testimonial page?

Congrats once again.

Thanks everyone!  I hope my experience will encourage others to follow in my footsteps but, of course, tailor all the bits to suit his/her tastes and individual requirements.  Completely changing one's diet permanently is not easy.  Admittedly in the early days some measure of faith is needed while waiting for good things to happen.  At some point you will actually begin to prefer raw fruits/veggies to burgers/fries, pizza, etc ... I promise.   :D

Charles, good to hear from you.  I'll go to your web site and add a few words.  If it wasn't for your web site and totoro's involvement I would have struggled badly in figuring out how to load my body with nutrition.  Massive green smoothies are so simple to make and, mercifully, taste good enough that most everyone would enjoy them.

A friend has just told me that she use to have a blender called a Breville Optimax and she thought it was excellent for the price. Cost around $100.00.

If a middle-aged fart like me can to a 180 degree on his health I am sure anyone can.

I am not sure I want to refer myself as “middle aged” or “fart”  ;D

BUT like Lazza says.........

If I can turn my health around by 180 degrees, then ANYONE can.

I followed a typical S.A.D. lifestyle. I was a processed foodholic: breadholic, cheeseholic, chocoholic, alcoholic, meatholic and sugarholic.

I was constantly sick and exhausted. Plus I had sore (often bleeding) encrusted psoriasis on my knees, legs, wrist, arms, elbows, scalp, inside ears, bridge of nose and eyebrows.

And I relied solely on the doctor to cure me with his magic pills, vaccinations and potions.

I NEVER consumed raw vegetables. My idea of vegetables was boiling a small amount of frozen peas and consuming them with a large steak with cheese sauce or having a small amount of lettuce in a white bread chicken sandwich.

And I only ate raw fruit if came with something sweet (i.e.) banana split with icecream, chocolate sauce & roasted nuts or baked apple with icecream and cream! All washed down with plenty of sugary coke.

Nowadays I feel physically nauseous at the thought of consuming some of the foods I use to eat. And I now crave things like blueberries, custardapples, mangoes, watercress, alfalfa, spinach and carrot juice.

Breakfast so far this morning has been:  5.30am carrot, lemon & ginger juice, 8.00am coconut water, spinach and banana green smoothie, 10.30am pawpaw, strawberries, blueberries and mango fruit salad.

A few years ago this would have been utterly unheard of in this household, as breakfast would have consisted of a processed packaged cereal or orange juice from a carton or jam on toast or a muffin or a full English breakfast fry up.

The elimination of certain acidic foods from my diet and the inclusion of certain alkaline others, has cleared me 100%. And even more important in my eyes, the continuation of this dietary lifestyle has kept me clear of P. Plus I rarely get sick these days, which is a huge bonus every flu season.

Whilst I can’t proclaim to have had a smoothie every day, I have had a vegetable juice practically every day. So all the nutrition from (organic) raw fruits and raw vegetables, either whole, juiced or blended, has had a massive impact because it along with elimination of certain foods, has cleared my P and turned my overall health completely around too.

Honestly, given how bad I once was, if I can do it..........ANYONE can.

Anne Wigmore taught that toxemia and deficiency were the root causes of most disease.

The natural health doctors say that given the right conditions, the body can heal itself of any disease.

But mainstream doctors say that diet has NO impact on P whatsoever.

Lazza, Totoro and Charles, may have done things slightly different to me, but the principle appears to be the same.

Regards

MadCat

P.S. Congratulations Lazza  :)

Lots of people have good results.

Go to any green smoothie blog and you will find people raving about how their arthritis pain has diminished or vanished, after drinking GS on a daily basis.

Or how people have come off their arthritis pain medication, after starting a raw food diet with lots of smoothies.

Igor Boutenko (Raw Family fame) could not tie his own shoelaces from the pain and stiffness associated with arthritis. He healed himself through raw foods.

Only things to be wary of are consuming too much oxalic acid - although I think you would have to consume a LOT of greens for it to be a major problem (don't quote me on this) and also you will need to avoid Vitamin K in smoothies if taking certain other medication.

P.S. Congratulations Lazza  :)

Thanks!  BTW, last year I consumed over 700 carrots in my green smoothies alone!  :o  This is easily more carrots than I've eaten in the prior 50+ years of my life.  And then there are all the cucumbers, many pounds worth of spinach, etc.  All this nutrition from raw veggies has a cumulative effect.

I hope others who are totally FED UP with their psoriasis will do what myself and several others on this forum have done and exert enough time and energy to control their diet.  You have little to lose and so very much to gain.

Lazza, is your skin orange now from eating all those carrots? My niece used to be a vegan and ate many carrots, her skin was a definite hue of orange.
