Hello All,

I'm pretty new on this site and got here looking for others
using the 'Barneys' diet. I have been on this for a couple of months
and it seemed to improve my psoriasis a bit.
BUT NOW....I am combining the 'Barneys' with another diet that I found
on the net.

This is NOT a scam...but beware some scammers are trying
to own his video.

Anyway I am a convert! I have only been doing it for a week
along with the Barney Vitamins and my psoriasis is changing
big time. Basically you have to pulp loads of veg and fruit
and avoid spicy....but visit his site to get the lowdown.

I have also cut out wheat , potatoes , tomatoes and peppers.

All in all both diets together take a bit of getting used to....
but Im sticking with them as so far no drugs...MTX etc have worked.

PUVA worked great for me...but sadly the Derm will only give it me
once a year.

Quick history....39...psoriasis since 17...pretty bad. Before last PUVA
it was about 70%!! Came back  within 1 month...hence the search for
a more natural way to treat myself.
( Also the last two times I visited Derm in hospital I had to wait
around for nearly 2 hours!!! to get seen..and thats with an appointment.
- Its such a waste of time to just get another drug that doesnt work!)

Will post again to say how its going...but i really really recommend
you all try these diets. It takes some self control but its worth it.

update....
Well I've been  on this 'diet' / food regime about 10 days now
and i have to say that i am hooked.

The psoriasis on my arms and elbows has gone! the rest of
my body...legs mainly still has psoriasis - but its very thin and
not sheading much skin...if any. Thats going from a stage
where the skin was very red and thick and sheding all the time.
( Im hoping that at this rate most of my skin will be clear in about
4 + weeks!!)

To be honest i am very amazed by the results and if it turns out
that it is just some food items and lack of Vit D3 then I really
wish that someone had told me earlier.

It isnt an easy diet to stick to. And today I gave in and had a milky
cappacino - bad idea. the milk almost made me retch.....very very strange
as before i LOVED milk, and cheese.....Im finding Rice milk the best
alternative...dont like soya milk in tea much.

So anyway I really would love someone to let me know if they have tried
anything like this. I know that theres lots of forum stuff here on
the 'Barney' Vit D3 diet...but cant find anything about this food
regime.

At some point i may be keen to post some pics somwhere to show the
fact that its working...and believe me I have never wanted to show my
psoriasis covered skin before...but thats how happy and how much I
believe this method is working!!!

PS: I have just added an elbow photo to show progress in my gallery pics

The basic shake recipe
Shake/Food Recipe: (Im posting it here in case anyone thinks the wesite link may be a scam or dodgy)

Vegetables:
Romaine lettuce, Carrots, Celery, Sweet Potatoes (and/or yams), Squash, Zucchini, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Onions, Parsley
You want equal amounts of everything except for lettuce, Parsley & onions. Use about 3 times the amount of lettuce, small amount Onion/Parsley.

Basically you will be filling the blender about half way with chopped Romaine lettuce and then adding the other ingredients.

Fruit:
Anything but citrus, peaches or berries. I recommend Pineapple, Bananas, Pears or Grapes. Or a combination of them all.

Other ingredients:
Unsweetened apple juice
Unsweetened soy milk (I use Rice milk)
Olive oil
Green Tea bags
Cinnamon (I don’t put this in as I read somewhere it not good for psoriasis)
Honey & Fresh lemons

My blender makes about 3 - 4 medium size glasses of the shake.
I'm drinking about 3 glasses a day - one around each meal time.
Another benefit is that it seems to fill you up and suppress appetite - so you
eat less! and lose a bit of weight.

Best of luck with this... great to hear that you are seeing progress. I do believe that combining Barney's remedy with an overall holistic approach to one's body inside and out will have to give improvements...

I am currently waiting to be called for my second PUVA treatment and yes my derm is happiest if I only take it about once a year.. But I did get great remission from it... so it's only about a year later that I really need it... Anyway, I am starting  a new cleaner diet and excercise regime to get myself into the best shape to be receptive to it...

Best wishes, E

Thanks...Im really happy with how its going. Im getting results that
remind me of when I have been in the Med for over two weeks. And I know
its not the sun here in the UK...as there really hasnt been any! (yet).

Anyway as far a bowel movements....well they seem pretty much the
same...if anything I would say Im going slightly less.

Im not a veggie , so still eating  meat...but mainly
stuck to duck, chicken, fish and one steak so far.

This diet does fill you up and hence I have not been snacking.
So no crisps or chocolate cravings so far.

Theres lots of foods Im not eating...wheat, dairy, nightshades inc tomatos...
( also no alcohol or fizzy drinks - diet or sugar - im missing the pepsi max!)
Ideally if my skin totally clears then i intend sticking to this diet 5 days a week
and then having 2 days of 'Bad' foods. Unless of course the 'Bad' food cause
adverse reaction.

Anyway I would really love to hear if anyone else trys this, I intend
keeping a photo log now... and will post more pics in gallery when the
before and after shots look good. I hope to post some more in a week.

Totora, your before and after pics are pretty impressive, it's really great your getting good results, I'm also doing barneys, have been for about 3 months but also having uvb. i wouldn't be able to stick to that diet, i love chocolate far tooooo much  :) but well done to you.
