bananas
« on: June 14, 2004, 08:53:01 PM »
Although I have been a member of this group for a while and try to read all the messages I haven't joined in much up to now.  This may sound really stupid but today someone told me that if I rubbed the inside of a banana skin on my p. it would get rid of it !!!  Anyone tried it or am I the victim of a joke ?  ???

Never heard that one.... but it won't kill you.

Lol - smelling like old bananas is a bit off putting!  I've heard that using a piece of banana skin taped over a verrucae will get rid of it.  Never heard about it for p though!

Hi,

Years ago my mum read that bananas were meant to help P (this was when exorex was being developed - even though I found it to be rubbish!)
Anyway she came up with the idea of getting a load of banana skins and wrapping them around my P and securing with those tubigrip bandages - much to my dismay as I was about 14 and everything my mum suggested had to be a bad idea! I left them on over night and although it was uncomfortable and sometimes stung if I had sore bits, it worked wonders. It made the plaques a lot smoother and eventually cleared some bits up. I would definately give it a go if I were you. When I did it I had severe P - if you can stick to it then I'm sure it could produce good results - I think I got a bit peed off after a couple of weeks as by that point I had learned to live with my P (had had it since the age of 4/5).
It's like now, I know that biolanyn works excellently for me if I cling film wrap my self like a packed lunch, but 1) it's gets too hot, 2) It takes a long time to do it and 3) my P is only very minor now and as I have said I have learnt to live with it!!
I stopped looking at this site about 6 months ago and the other day popped back for a look and now I do feel a bit motivated to get myself clear now!!
Anywya, sorry this is so long and hope I haven't bored you!!
Good luck if you decide to try the bananas!!

There is a thread on this, and it is supposed to work, when my P was really bad about 9 months ago I did rub a banana skin on my arms, it was cooling at first but then started to sting and it made my skin drier.  Didn't continue it.  But you are supposed to just leave the skin on your skin and fasten it on with a bandage or something!  Bit messy.

Being half asian, i get to bring me aunt into the big picture here. She lives abroad but used to send my cousin coconut and banana creams which were mixed with AMLA DABUR OIL. My cousin suffered from Eczema, and when he started to use this solution, his skin almost totally cleared up, he never got rash on his neck and scalp again.

Personaly i never tried it, cos if your makin creams outta banana moisture, im sure by the time it reaches UK like after a few days it goes all rotty, snotty grotty, smelly welly and boldy mouldy. But if this banana skin thing mentioned in this post really does work, id be interested in my aunts handiwork.

p.s. i wanna mention, for me porridge oat baths are working with lakeland willow water and amoega 3 capsules, people who havent tried it should get crackin on!!
