Bergamot oil
« on: November 23, 2009, 01:08:04 PM »
Bizzarely I discovered there is a lady at work who suffers with P and was chatting with her earlier and asking how she got herself looking pretty clear as she said she was covered when she was younger and she said she used this oil from M & S and it helped her loads.
Anyone else have any experience with this oil? I've found it in small bottles on t'net and guess you add a few drops to a bath? Might try it?
Cheers :)

I used to use Bergamont, lavender and geranium I think in my bath (the essential oils).

Bergamont is supposed to be good for the skin.

There used to be a few people on here who knew loads about essential oils,   don't know where they are now though.

I'm sure someone else will be much more helpful that I have been  :)

Hi Jamie,

I have copied my reply from another thread...

"I have been using a cup of dead sea salt, a splash of grapeseed carrier oil and 4 drops each of bergamot and carrot seed essential oil in my bath water twice a week. I then use diprobase to moisturise.

I have been using this regime for about 9 months now and my skin has never been in such good nick"
  :)

I cannot recommend the carrot seed essential oil highly enough, it is excellent for peeps with skin conditions as is the bergamot.

Good luck ;)
Always look on the bright side

In another post (on members board started by me) you mentioned you was going to use Bergamot Oil, I shall use the same oil but in a different method, maybe if we can both post (like a blog) on a regular basis we can see how each treatment works - obviously that depends on how bad the P is at the time.

Good luck with yout method.

Good luck with yours too mate, I just read your thread on alternatives, I wonder if i could just mix the both? I have some pics in the gallery of how my P looks at the mo so hoping really to get rid of the redness and reduce the patches as keeping it pretty smooth at mo with the coconut oil/ moisterisors.

Should have bergamot & grapeseed oil next week and will start trying it then.  :)

How did you get on with this method - I'm planning on trying this also; just waiting for the Geranium.

Bergamot arrived today so the trial starts tonight, will have to add the grapeseed later in week when it arrives. Probably a bit unfortunate to start this trial during a cold snap where my P is likely to get worse and sore anyhow? Oh well....
