Jam, you're such an expert on creams. :)  I'm currently using Aveeno Skin Relief Lotion (with cooling menthol).  Is colloidal oatmeal which relieves very dry skin.  Its absolutely excellent.  I can't believe the difference already as I have been moisturising with all sorts, Diprobase, Tea Tree and Cucumber, Bio Oil, lavender, rose oils, etc .. this one is best so far but it is early days and what's the bet ... just next week my skin will react to it .. or not have the same positive reaction.

Hope you get good results from next treatment.  Keep posting !

Hugs

THanks BB. I blush :D Im no expert, i just havent used prescripton creams for many years so have slowly worked my way through the market on moisterisors/creams until I found one that seems ok, then I er, experiment some more heh.
I started off with moisterisors from boots/ tesco, but stopped with them as I used to get really hot and as soon as i washed my skin was horrendous underneath so i think i read the paraffin. . acts more as a barrier to the skin than sinking in and helping so stayed away from anything with that in.

I like the sound of what your using BB. I will add that to my list to try I think and am wishing you continued success :-*. Im am so reliant on moisterisor creams that i do worry if ever run out if that makes sense.

Well little update. Eumovate works ok on my face, but leave it a day and the redness/flakes are coming back, especially on the bridge of my nose and eyebrows :( I have decided yesterday I cant wait for the usally clearance provided by the summer sun, so am going to book an appointment with my doctor for the first time (p related) in ages and am going to ask for some Protopic to try as lots of people say that has worked for them.
Also my other P has seemed slighty agrivated lately and I am blaming the changing of seasons again? :-\

Hears hoping for a nice warm summer for us all :)

Hi Jam,

I bought some Dove Pro Age Cream Oil yesterday whilst shopping, said it's for very dry skin so will report update.  Best I've found so far is Boots own brand Oil of Evening Primrose with Vitamin E - moisturising body cream.  Aveeno one is really good if skin is hot - as it's got menthol and is sooo soothing.  You should see my bathroom, I have every cream under the sun and keep alternating them - that's the secret me thinks.

I'm having uvb currently - had 3rd session yesterday  - and am using 6% coal tar twice daily, washing off just before going for treatment and applying afterwards.  So hoping to be 'flaky no more' in a few weeks, will keep you posted on that.

Re/ Protopic, I can't speak highly enough of this for the face particularly.  It's incredible - I learnt about it from Pie here, got script from Doc and never looked back.  It's certainly worth a go.  But it cannot be used with sunlight, natural or un-natural so keep out of those rays ....

Good to see you're still trying JAM, don't give up, there is something out there am sure that will make your skin less flaky/itchy - when I get clear (hopefully after uvb) I'm going to use oils after bathing while skin is still kinda wet - to lock moisture in.  Have forgotten what it's like to not have to worry about my skin ... :'( !

Hi BB. Will look forward to update and good luck :) I think that boots one was what I used years ago in a plain blue or green bottle? They stopped selling it at my local boots (story of my life, get used to something and the shops stop selling it)

If i can sort my face and my hands out then that should fill me with hope, so tried to book an appointment with my GP, and he has retired, so need to phone back tomorrow as new Dr is fully booked up. I'm hoping its as easy as 'Hi, can I try some Protopic please?'. May see if I can get refered to a derm? but its a pain to get to Southmead or Frenchay on the buses from Clevedon. Ideally I actually need to have a check up on my single Kidney to see if that is working well on its todd. I wonder if I can get both done with one appointment??? hmm.

Right, got back from the gp and I asked for Protopic, but said he couldnt prescribe as wasnt licensed for Psoriasis, but said its probably authorised by Derms so he is going to book me an appointment with one and has supplied me with a nice big tube of Dovobet for a few weeks and a nice big tube of Dovonex to use after (think i have it the right way round) while I wait for appointment and hopeful summer will help. He did agree my coverage is getting bad though so definately needed to see the derm.

5+ years I think without using prescription treatments and I've caved in :'( £7.20 an item now!

Daft as its been a while, but I can still use my normal moisterisors aswell as these creams?

Quick update, been applying Dovobet everywhere for 4 nights before I go to bed, and I am amazed how smooth and less red my arms are already!!!! :D My hands and legs are being more stubborn, but am shocked at such quick results!! I'm sure its supposed to take longer! Wayhay! Hope it continues. Although, my nose was peeling this morning, so will stop putting it on my nose ::) every night.

Back to the alternatives, i've stopped using dovobet and will save for emergancies, and using dovonex abit, but going to try some soaps from lush and now the sun is shining, sunbathing with my green people sun cream 8)

Good 4 u JAM and while you're at it, nip into Boots and pick up some of that 'gorgeous feet' intensive moisturiser - its Boots own brand of products for feet;  is amazingly luxurious and not at all expensive - it's lightly scented.  Andy here has been using it and noticed his P lessen so decided to try it on further patches, told us on the forum and some of us ran out and grabbed a jar and never looked back.  There's another thread here for it and as you're the King of Creams, me reckons you should give this one a go !

Keep smilin'  :)

I'm not sure about 'King of Creams', unless you mean eating custard creams ;D
