Can anyone help with Pagano?
« on: April 19, 2005, 02:39:20 PM »
Hi,

I started Pagano A week ago and i must say that I am feeling alot healthier already!
I did the apple thing but not the colonic irrigation, I really didn't fancy that!! I've now been following the diet as much as I can. I've found slippery elm tablets and I couldn't find the yellow Saffron tea anywhere. I wonder if anybody knows whether the diet will still work? I've been drinking canomile instead.
My skin was already quiet clear from using Dovonex cream, so I'm really wishing this diet will keep me quite clear for the summer. ???

p.s I'm really missing tomatoes.

Hey,
My husband swears the actual teas are helping.  We found the Slippery Elm Bark powder at a Natural Food Store near us (we live in Ottawa, Canada), but the Yellow American Saffron tea seems to only be available via ordering online...so we suffered the $$ and ordered it from Barr.com.  You get quite a lot.

He thinks the teas and colon hydrotherapy helped to kick start the clear up process, which is now maintained by the diet.
Hope that helps!

Hi Shelley T,

Maybe try Neals Yard for the Yellow Saffron tea? They sell lose herbs in jars and charge by weight, so they can mix you whatever you like. They have some great advisors who can guide you as to what's best to include and it's not too expensive. Then simply clasp some of the tea in a strainer (i think they sell those too for a couple of quid) and leave to infuse in hot water.

I too did apples, not irrigation - its a strict diet but fantastic for weight loss and clear skin  :)

Hiya
Been doing Pagano for a couple of months now.
Did the apple diet for three days and not the colonic and had an almighty headache for about 5 days!
Skin was doing brilliantly and then had a flare up for absolutely no reason whatsoever.  Have stuck to the diet religiously but my skin is no better now than when I started.  However I will NOT give up and am carrying on with the diet.  I've lost a stone and two pounds in weight and my general skin tone has improved dramatically.  Pagano says there will be flare ups along the way so I'm not bothered - I'm in it for the long haul without drugs! I use Dovobet for really bad days and Diprobase as an emolient as it apparently 'reacts' well with the sun ie it's the best thing (as well as sun protection cream) to put on your skin on a sunny day :o)
Drinking 8 glasses of water is definitely the key - my skin is much more hydrated and less flakey.
I got slippery elm tablets from Holland and Barrett for anyone in the UK and it says you can open them up and make a tea from them but I haven't done that!  They also do flaxseed oil and milk thistle at H&B.  They do a fruit cake and biscuits which are also allowed on Pagano as they are not white flour based and contain honey and not sugar.  I missed tomatoes for a bit but not any more - not when I think what the toxins do to my skin - it's a small price to pay.  I do miss chips though!
There's a thread on here about juicing.  MadCat's the expert!!  I have gone mad for smoothies - fruit being the cleanser and veg being the builder the fruit smoothies are great for the whole family.  Yet to try too much with veg though as it seems odd having a juice drink made of veggie.  Must say though that my local supermarket does a drink called V8 which is carrot juice and tropical juice combined and it's yum!
Hope that helps a bit, Jules x

Although what I do (green smoothies, no dairy, no gluten, no nightshades, little meat except fish) is not exactly what Pagano prescribes, I do agree with one element ItsJules highlights: drink plenty of water!  I have a tendency not to do this and only drink when I'm truly thirsty.  Bad, on multiple levels.  Firstly it really does dry out the skin.  Secondly, I find it bad for one's health overall.  The other day I went to the gym and was feeling "blah".  Mild headache, a bit of nasal congestion.  Guess what?  Drinking about a cup of water while warming up cleared things up.  I drank another cup while working out and felt fine.  I think perhaps in the cooler months the lack of hydration is less obvious.  But June in Florida is hot(!), and air conditioned homes are very dry.  I am now forcing done a full extra litre of water each day.  This means I consume about 3-4 litres of liquid each day.  Still probably not enough but I'll add more if I need to.

Hi,

I did the Pagano diet religiously for six months but without success. I think there are people on here that it has worked for but I think clearing P is like cracking a code for your own body. There is one answer but finite ways to get there.
