Candida questionnaire
« on: April 26, 2008, 07:42:46 PM »
Hi... found this questionnaire today; as I've been recently researching Candida... apparently if you score above 85 you're a severe case, I don't know how realistic it is, but if you have a high score.. it's most likely the diet they also recommend will help you.

I scored 257! Which seems bad to me... so I'll be starting this diet.

The reason I am posting this is, I saw a natural health doctor guy in London about 1 year after getting psoriasis (this was about 5 years ago) He wasn't very informative to be honest; he did lots of little tests with this electric reading meter, on various parts of my body.. fingers etc.

Anyway.. his conclusion was "you have a yeast infection", I thought OK, fair enough, that doesn't mean much to me.

But he did put me on this diet, which cleared my psoriasis about 90% - At which point I was happy with my skin, and now after 5 more years I am back to my old ways... and of course have psoriasis and a host of other problems!

Now reading this diet on the Candida page, it's EXACTLY the same as the one he gave me, which consequently really helped me. Now I know the yeast infection he was talking about must be Candida, I know what I am dealing with; and I can beat it (and the psoriasis) again! (and I'll know for life hopefully what it is when it returns)

So.. if you're interested, take the test and you may find if you're score drastically high (like me) this diet advice might help you.

website for the test is

Good luck :-) And see if you can beat 257 lol

And as a note other thing's that I have tried that really help are Hulda Clark parasite cleanse and liver flush.. any web search on these will find the info. I've done about 4 liver flushes and I'm improving after every one!

You may find these things particularly helpful if (like me) you're not interested in unnatural supplements, creams, anything from the doctors etc!

I posted about Lemon in water and this seems to be a very helpful in clearing up Candida:

Current debate #2 Simple sugars or no simple sugars.

Some people do okay with fruits, others do not. Lemons and their fresh juice are the exception. They disinfect the GI tract, dissolve old protein and purify the blood. Simple sugars to avoid are bottled, canned and fresh fruit juice; dried, stewed and fresh fruits; and honey. Stevia is not allowed on the SCD however some do well with it. One person said butternut squash was too much sugar for them while practicing the SCD diet.

Thank you for the links, Alext - I've bookmarked them.
I did the test and scored just a little higher - 262!
I was trying to follow a candida diet last year and my psoriasis did improve at the time but I got very confused with what I could and couldn't eat as I was actually trying to diet for weight problems at the same time.
The food list on the site is excellent so I will study it and start on the regime as soon as I can - it does look like candida explains ALL the health problems I suffer from and if it helps to control my psoriasis then that will definitely be the icing on the cake

No problem, glad I found it myself; if only that doc told me I had candida a few years ago I would've known what i'm dealing with!

Since cutting out all fruit and all carbs and seeds/nuts, and taking some herbs 1 week ago I noticed a change instantly, my stomach's now flat, my brain is clear.. I can actually read a book now without my mind wandering, my energy levels have doubled at least! I no longer need a sleep in the morning and in the afternoon lol and it's only been one week!

First couple of days were very hard with yeast die-off, I pretty much stayed in bed for 3 days solid as I had no energy to move, but now things are getting better, P included :)

So good luck, hope it helps as much as it did for me. Take it easy if you suffer harsh die-off, luckily i'm on holiday and could stay in bed alot!

Almost two years ago I thought I had a Candida problem. Probably did. I tried a low-yeast diet. I say low yeast because it is everywhere. I also took a higher dose of Nystatin to help get rid of it and some probiotics to repopulate with good bacteria. The diet seemed to help. I occasionally cheated with a beer and some bread.  Fast forward almost two years and I have found that I am intolerant to gluten. 29% of the population could have this same problem. It causes chronic illness and similar symptoms to Candida. 4 Weeks ago I eliminated gluten and dairy from my diet. My psoriasis is clearing!!! It has steadily gotten worse each year for the past 12 years. I know this diet is working. Please try it. Trust no sauces unless they come in a jar labeled gluten free. It is worth it every day. I feel better -clear head, steady hands, pain-free joints, smooth skin.

Yep... and unfortunately anyone who's used steroids for an extended period of time will likely have a host of intolerances, candida/yeast, gluten/soya etc.

This is how I got all my intolerances due to such low immunity from the steroids, only wish I could sue the doctors (for not warning me about steroids for 4 years) for wasting the last few years of my life (just been feeling like I was "existing" with my mind never quite there(from the candida) , instead of living!!)

Now after 2 weeks on this diet and all the herbs/cleanes I feel my body feels almost back to how it was when I was about 18; before all these probs occurred, odd...almost doesn't feel real :) waking up with a clear head, sleeping at night...wow

Though... I could really do with a nice sandwich or burger  ;D oh well
