Cluster of small red dots on the inside of my forearms
« on: September 16, 2011, 05:21:33 PM »
Hey all.  I have been on Pagano's diet for 6 and half months.  I have not cleared, but I think I am on my way there.  Over the past few weeks, some of my spots look either lighter, smaller, or are getting that "hole" in the middle of the lesion.  So I have hope that this diet is going to clear me.

However, yesterday, I noticed the inside of both forearms have many many small red dots populating the arm.  This extends from wrist to elbow.  This redness is underneath the skin b/c when I rub my finger over it, the skin is smooth.  They do not itch.

There is nothing I could have eaten that would have caused this since anything I've eaten lately, I've been eating for the past 6.5 months (i.e. foods permitted by Pagano diet).

So any ideas of what this could be?  I'm thinking it could be a reaction by my body "flushing out" any toxins or the psoriasis and maybe it's a sign that something is happening inside my body as part of the healing process.  At least I hope that's the case.

So, any thoughts?

I have no idea really what might be causing these red dots.  Just because they appear below the skin and do not itch it is not safe to assume a pathogen is involved (ie, bacteria or yeast).  Keep an eye on it.  You might want to wipe the area with hydrogen peroxide a couple times per day to disinfect it.

However if the situation does not worsen and you are not bothered by it then I think your suspicions are correct, in which case the condition will resolve itself.  Otherwise see a derm.

Hi Nyguy! If the dots are under the skin this sounds more like "petechia" (broken capillaries). These can occur with minor trauma (like someone squeezing your arm too strongly) or even can appear spontaneously, and they will fade within a few days. They do not indicate a serious problem unless they appear over your whole body.

Eve, thanks.  A week later, it's still there, but definitely a little more faded out.  I'm not really concerned anymore at this point, but I'd like it to go away.  There has been no trauma of any kind to my arms, so that's why it's puzzling.  I do pushups, but I highly highly doubt it's related to that.

Spotted girl...yeah, very depressing, but hey, anything to get rid of this c**p!

Wrong.  Those little red spots are all gone.  There is no trace of it right now.  I think my body may finally be healing.  I have seen a reaction of the existing P on my body, so it might be that this diet is kicking in for me.  We'll see...

Could be. Then again, it could be a million and one other things. Who knows!

(i.e.)

You may have breathed in an unknown environmental toxin in the street and are now reacting to it.
Your body may have suddenly decided to become sensitive / allergic to your washing powder or soap
You may have been bitten by a tick, ant or spider
You may have brushed against a plant with poisonous sap

Etc...etc...

I woke up one morning with a similar rash all over my leg. Turns out it was a tick that I had picked up whilst out walking.

So again, your breakout could be almost anything, including a good old fashioned cleaning out detox.

I would not get too overly concerned with every little break out. These things can happen after changing your diet.

I have cut out drinking (almost!) and started to take a liver detox supplement. That combined with an extremely healthy diet these past few weeks since I got my Vitamix blender, have triggered a deep cleanout.

I am now breaking out all over the place with strange pimples, boils, spots and rashes: on my feet, hands, back, and face, and everywhere in between. I am red, itching and peeling. It has been like this for over a week now.

But it will pass.

It is completely pointless going to the doctor to get a cream to suppress it. As it needs to come out. If it does not come out now, it will only find some worse way to come out later.  So I am just going with the flow, resting, and drinking water to help flush things out. It is no big deal - just one of those things.

As my natural health doctor told me, it can take months or years to properly detox, and can seemingly happen at random many months or even years into a clean healthy diet. Plus of course, some supplements can take months to start working.

If you feel the need to see a doctor or derm – then do. But I suggest contacting Pagano instead, because he is the expert on your diet.

But it will pass.

In fact, it is passing already.

This morning my feet have stopped itching and the peeling skin on my palms is healing.

I am drinking 6 glasses of pure filtered water, numerous green juices, coconut water, fruit smoothies, every day - to help keep things moving along.

No drama. I am not concerned. I know what is happening and why.

The milk thistle supplement for liver detox and support, is working well it seems.

NYGuy11 - are you taking any supplements at present?

Thanks Pink...I wasn't really concerned about it.  I don't visit my derm for psoriasis.  I have no interest in getting any steroidal creams to put on my skin.  This was confined only to my forearms and it has long disappeared.  It definitely was not a bug bite or reaction to touching a plant.  It definitely isn't soap or anything like that.

Yes, I take supplements.  I take fish oil, flax seed, vitamin D3, B12, folic acid, selenium, peppermint oil, multivitamin.  I also take a probiotic between lunch and dinner.
