Well I have used the cocois today, I left it on my scalp for an hour, washed it out with shea butter and condition and you know what? my scalp does not itch, my hair is glossy, and my scalp has improved 80% already! in just one night, please let it condition (fingers crossed) I am well chuffed! I have exorex and epaderm to apply to the small patches I have elsewhere, my only question: using cocois excessively will not make my hair thin or anything will it? I am to use caution with all this man made modern! I do not want a knock on effect later in life! Thanks, I shall keep you updated!

hi Heidi, i've used cocois quite a lot and never found it thinned the hair, it was the actual p scales that caused my hair to thin, once i got it under control with the cocois it was fine! Good luck with it, hope it keeps on improving. ;)

Good for you Heidi! :-)

Cocois did not help me, in fact, I got a bad allergic reaction to it.
And 1 thing I noticed, it seemed to have a small degree of bleaching effect on the hair.

Thank you! I am happy, using exorex, cocois, epaderm, sudocream and there is a big improvement so far, I am buying some LUSH products tomorrow also! I hope you all find something that helps with you! ;)

Hi All - well, thanks to coconut-connections.co.uk, I received a good sized tub of coconut oil and have been soaking my scalp daily for 2 weeks.  Comes in solid form, so I melt it on the radiator first before pouring into old Betnovate bottle.  It's sooooo soothing - warm and calming, my scalp immediately feels so much better.  Am in a really good routine now and even manage to apply after I've been out for the evening.

It's so much better and has more of an effect than Cocois, which just drys my scalp out so it feels like I have a giant elastic band around my head.  My hair seems thicker and really shiny.  I am a convert.   Here's to perhaps wearing a black top again!

Try the Elemis Exotic Frangipani Monoi moisture melt, I found this very good - It's Coconut Oil (the best) with Plumeria Rubra Flowers.
Or REN do a lovely Monio cocnut oil.
The Elemis one you melt by standing the bottle in hot water.  You will get addicted  :)

I was given a mix of this plus a emulsifying oil for my scalp form the hospital once and it worked great! :)

I now use Arachis oil (purified peanut oil) for my scalp which i rub in at night. I then wash it in the morning with a shampoo such as Alphosyl and give it a really good comb.

I only use this when scalp is bad for a  normal shampoo i use Timote.

I hope you find something that works for you Minx :)

hello Minx, I was thinking of doing the same thing with my coconut oil and old betnovate bottle. Does this method of application stop your hair looking so greasy as applying with your fingers?

I got my coconut oil (pure-solid in a 100g tub) from infinity foods for £2.50. It's made by 'nature's aid'. I think this stuffs great for clearing scalp and conditioning hair. It's quite fun too in a 5-yr-old way :D (I like the fact it melts when I stick my finger in it! wierdo I am I am indeed)

Ask at your Boots Pharmacy, they sell a tub of coconut oil 500g for about £2.50.
Good value - especially if you want to play (the melt thing).  My 2 yr. old loves watching it melt in his hand.  Great stuff

Hi All - well, I've used my entire tub of coconut oil and although it's improved (and I don't have to use Cocois anymore), I'm still "snowing" over everything and anyone who comes anywhere near me.  The oil seems to stop the helmet of plaque and the flakes are smaller,  but  I have a black chair at work and constantly have to brush it down.  I guess all p sufferers leave their DNA just about everywhere they go......

Off to oil my scalp again, just for the relief.  May try hemp oil now and possibly the olive oil/s.acid suggestion by SJ.

Any more suggestions gratefully received and thanks for all your help so far.
