Confusion about UVA / UVB
« on: October 30, 2011, 12:22:41 AM »
Hi,
I am wondering if anyone can clear this up for me...I seem to be reading different things.  Which is better for Psoriasis:  UVA or UVB?  If tanning beds are utilized during winter months, what should I be looking for to improve P  UVA or UVB?

It depends on the type of psoriasis you have and skin type.
Dermatologists don't recommend self use sunbeds as they cannot monitor the ammount of radiation you receive.

This probably hasn't made things much clearer, you need to get referred to a dermatologist and have some  tests done.

Yea, either option can work for you. There's still a big debate with studies suggesting either is better than the other. Best to talk with your doc.
