I went totally dairy and beef related products free for 12 weeks - the length of time a hospital allergy specialist said was needed to be sure to show up any allergies. It made absolutely NO difference to my P
And there is the CLUE!
12 weeks is a good indication for allergy tests.
BUT......
Actually detoxing and recovering (from years and years of eating dairy & beef) takes a lot longer than 12 weeks.
So I doubt you would see results after only 12 weeks, especially if you are still continuing with other detrimental foods.
Drugs are “quick fixes”. But changing diet (often lifelong dietary habits) and seeing tangible results, takes a lot longer than 12 weeks.
Lazza was spot on......no wonder so many people “fail” with diet.

Well, thanks for that! As I'm already gluten free don't think I could deal with dairy free as well anyway. I now only eat fruit, veg, chicken, fish and limited dairy - mainly just skimmed milk, no ready meals etc or processed food, with only the occasional glass when desperate, I'll just have to bow to you and retire into my corner gracefully!
hk, everyone is very different when it comes to psoriasis trigger foods. With dairy I believe the problem has to do with casein, the protein found in dairy. After a lifetime of consuming dairy w/o problem it can suddenly confuse your immune system, as it did with me. Total elimination improved my psoriasis most definitely within a few short days. And 90 days seems like a generous amount of time to see if dairy is problem for you. But to MadCat's point, one's innards can be ruined after years of eating junk foods. Sometimes early warnings are given, like bouts with irritable bowl syndrome, and sometimes no warning is given and you get walloped with something nasty (like psoriasis). You can be dairy intolerant but other factors in your gut (and elsewhere) can still be overwhelming your immune system.
So my thoughts:
1) Dairy is really not a good food; don't believe the marketing hype from the dairy industry.
2) If you see no improvement in your psoriasis after eliminating dairy/gluten from your diet I suggest doing a colon cleanse. IMHO, this can be safely accomplished through mild herbal supplements. This can take many weeks to complete. While on it I suggest keeping dairy/gluten off your diet.
3) Still no improvement after going gluten/dairy free and doing a colon cleanse? I would ask my doctor for a complete set of food allergy tests.
No, food is not the root cause of psoriasis for everyone. But I think it is best to overturn every stone in ruling it out.
