Dead Sea treatment
« on: June 28, 2011, 12:30:03 PM »
Hiya,

I'm pretty new to this forum and was delighted to come across it. I am a psoriasis sufferer and I've reached the point where I've decided to visit the Dead Sea for treatment. I'm thinking about the Lot Spa Hotel / Clinic which offers treatment for psoriasis. Has anyone been there before? I'm from the UK and finding it pretty hard to find a package which offers hotel, flight and transfer fees for this hotel. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would really appreciate any help on this.

Thanks!

Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,

Have a look here> You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

We arrange trips to the Dead Sea via the forum although you are a little late for this one. We generally arrange more during the autumn and details will be posted should one go ahead otherwise you will have to hang on until next spring.

I have done everything in the LOT except actually stayed there ;). I used the HOD next door or the Meredien opposite. More recently the majority of people have opted to go to the Jordanian side where the hotels offer a far, far more superior service and the people are way more welcoming and friendly and is where we arrange the trips to. Should you wish to stick to Israel then this is your contact... You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Have a read here too... You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login I wrote this for PHO a few years ago so the prices are a little outdated.

Cheers,

Hi Paul,

You're a gem  :)! Thanks so much for the advice and the useful links. Yes, I heard that the Jordanian side is much nicer but it's also a bit more pricey, but I'll still have a look at what's available. Did the dead sea work for you? I hope it does for me...

No probs :)

You will probably find our rates a lot better than the agents are charging for the LOT hotel in Israel. This spring a trip to the LOT hotel was in the region of 3k for 3 weeks, single room, half board, transfers and flights with DST.

The hotel we use in Jordan for 3 weeks, single room, half board, transfers and flight is about £700 cheaper.

Remember, there is not a hotel anywhere on the Israeli side that gets anywhere near this one for quality, service and friendliness of the staff and fellow guests not forgetting edible food ;) so you are getting so much more for your money as well. However, the cockroaches are thrown in for free in the Israeli hotels ;D

I have been going since 1988 and clear 100% every time with remission averaging out to 6 or so months with 1 year being my longest.

I have not been for the last couple of years due to financial reasons so had to come back under my hospital and had UVB during march and april. You could count the remission near enough in hours with my face, scalp and lower legs worse than I started with with in days.

Most worrying is all the patches that are re forming are coming back with a severity that I have not seen in the best part of 15 years :( So all my hard work over the years controlloing it to a bear minimum at the Dead Sea has been thrown out of the window - and to think my derm nurses ridiculed my going to the Dead Sea boasting how good their machine was...

Sorry, went off on one there ;D

Send your email addy to me You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and I will forward our info to you where you will see details of the hotel we use, prices and how we go about things.

Hi,

I'm going to the dead sea in Israel for the first time on 11th July.
I managed to get a very good price on my hotel. If you e-mail me I can put you in touch with a travel agent who can get you a good price and they also have discounts for which I will give you the code.

Have  you heard of Lo Pagan,  Mar Menor, in Spain, where there are mud flats which are reputed to have therapeutic qualities? Google on it for lots of info. It may be an alternative to the Dead Sea, and probably will be cheaper.

Wouldnt risk that - mud shmudd  ;)  It's the DS sun that does the trick, not conviced the Dead Sea itself makes a huge lot of difference
