Dead Sea/ Youth Hostel?
« on: March 12, 2004, 07:50:01 PM »
I'm currently looking at a trip to the Dead Sea as a possible bit of alternative treatment and a bit of rest and relaxation, but i'm kind of put off by the high prices.  I understand that the hotels have private facilities and stuff but does anyone have any experiences or knowledge of the Ein Gedi youth hostel by the Dead Sea.  I'm told it's pretty good, works out at $50US per night for a room, and could be a way of making the whole experience a little less coslty.

I'm sure many of you have experence of the dead sea and would appreciate any cost cutting tips (I have had a look at the Dead Sea FAQ)

Cheers

TJL

Hi TJL,

Try giving John Bann from the forum an IM, I know he is doing a "cheapie" trip to the Dead Sea in April. I think he will be the best person to give you advice to keep the costs down.

Hi, I haven't stayed at this hostel but it's quite a few miles from the Ein Bokek area which is where everyone else goes & where the clinic & nurses are.
Have a look at these;

That last one has some cheaper self-catering apartments - Gil and Dalia, which are quite a bit cheaper than the hotels. Good luck!

you could drive your staying costs down to food cost only!
take a sleepeing bag, stay on the bublic beach as long as needed, public showers are available, buffétt and food  are plentyfull - right next to clinics . why spend money on hostels?

How long does the psoriasis clear for (on average) if you were to go for 1-2 weeks?

One week you would be wasting your money.
Two weeks would give you very good results but unlikely to completley clear the p.
Three weeks would clear most peeps 100%

Remission will vary person to person. For me I have had as long as a year and as short as a couple of months.
