« on: April 21, 2006, 02:58:34 PM »
ok im seriously thinking about doing a week long detox thingy, if it dont help my p apparently it makes you feel a lot better anyhow.

been haveing a nose on here and on the net , but some let ya eat brown rice n that.

i was thinking along the lines of just lemon boiled water and only eating fruit n veg for a week.

is that the way to do it or do you have to eat other stuff?

sorry if it sounds a thicko question but theres so many detox diet things about :-/

heres what i do!

On waking have a glass of warm water (good for getting the bowls moving)

1/2 hour later I have a cup of nettle tea

then I normally have big bowl of fruit.

Mid morning I have carrots, celery and apple juiced and then mixed in some avocado.

Some more nettle tea

Lunch is carrot and beetroot juiced together

More nettle tea

Mid afternoon I then have another juice such as carrot, celery, apple and brocolli!!

Then for tea I have brown rice and stir fry veggies.

I try to drink at least 4 bottles 75cl of water each day!

Each detox is different some say only drink juices all day but its all down to the individual.

I tend to have a bath early evening and I add some essential oils and try and get myself into bed by 10.30pm!

Good luck with it Alison. It can be really hard but I feel so much better when I have done it!

I only do this over a weekend!

hi, ya Alison

as you say  there are 100s and 100 s of detox diets etc

all claiming they don't contain this and that or they have this and that and do good

and when you search you find they have mislead you they do contain etc etc

havent got heavily into the juicer thingy, looks good next to the steamer

my friends who never smoked and  have  watched there food etc have been juicing for yrs
and have both gone down with diff autoimmune/diseases ?

so what ever these toxins things are , how about  make a list of detox/diets close your eyes and stick a pin in it  as you say you prob feel  better, or just start at the top and every 3mths work down the list

i have  have been given/ tried many a so called detox in my life time
done the boiled lemon water, thingy yrs ago and a while back i read of leaching from cookware kettles etc etc you can only get organic from a sterile indoor area etc etc

just recent done a diet lemonade and lettuce 3 day on 4 of etc

then came across what family lettuce belongs to  etc

i was  thinking next  of trying  a  bamboo shoots diet/detox grow them  in a sterile soil container ,  and boiled lemon water , in a micro wave in a plastic container
but  came across a article that hot drinks or even  water cooled after being  microwaved  is no good for you ?  so

im reading  a artical on a  famous healer  for his time johann schroth 1798-1856
he belived in little water and little food
and his  famous saying  of

without battle--        no victory
without self denial-- no satisfaction
without cleansing--  no healing

are well  its  friday time i ordered the fish/chips

true david i spose but surely if you go the natural way of just fruit n veg nothing else oh and water then its got to do some good.

just been feeling sluggish lately and feel i need some kind of kick start and mayb think theres the possibility that i do have the will power to do it instead of eating my diet full of spices, sugars n fats ;)
