MadCat provided a link recently where someone said it was all an FDA conspiracy as to why stevia is not widely available in America as compared to aspertame.

Did I ??!!

Must have done that when drunk  ;D - I don't remember that.

I don't use many sweeteners. I hate always hated the taste of artificial sweeteners and seeing the film “Sweet Misery A Poisoned World” put me off them even further.

Earlier this year I finally and completely broke my addiction to sugar (took almost 3 years!)

If I need to sweeten anything I use homemade organic date paste, but to be honest I am finding I just don’t need or want sweetness anymore.

A few months ago I had a biscuit with maple syrup and it made me as sick as a dog. I have even gone off honey and agave nectar.

I don't suffer from insanity....I enjoy every minute of it!

I do take one drug:  When I am in a stressful situation (such as traveling or some minor crisis) I take a small dose (2.5 mg) of valium for a short period of time. This has been preventing the occasional flares caused by anxiety for the past 6 months.

Welcome

You are so knowledgeable, and I have learnt many things from you. I am always urging people to visit your posts on the other forum.

I have researched diet and P, but it is nothing compared to the amount you have done.

I hope you post here regularly, as you and your diet knowledge will be a huge asset to this forum.

And 99.99% of the members here are very nice and polite - after all, we are on a British site and the British Isles are renowned for politeness and refinery. So one must act properly, mustn’t one!

I was in a similar situation to you as quoted above. My doctor wanted to give me valium to help with stress and anxiety. I said no because I do drink quite often and I didn’t think that valium and alcohol would be a good mix. Plus I was worried about becoming addicted to valium, as I have heard some horror stories from people who have. Instead my naturopath prescribed an herbal supplement called NeuroCalm by Metagenics. Works really well. Perhaps too well!  ;)

Thanks for the kind words and the tip about Neurocalm - it's good to know there's an alternative.   So far the valium is keeping me clear after trips without any problems.   All I notice is that I sleep better.

It was in the Mike Adams video, perhaps 30 minutes into it.

Hello everyone - cliche but true, this is quite a big step for me as it is almost acceptance that my P is spreading and getting worse and I am resorting to 'help' via websites and online forums. There is so much I wish to talk about but this thread on diet and Psoriasis caught my eye as only today I found a book called "Healing Psoriasis: The Natural Alternative"
John O. A. Pagano

I was wondering if anyone here has read it? What are their thoughts? Does it work?

I hope I can learn alot on this forum and maybe through best practice it can help me to lead a 'normal life

In anticipation....Many Thanks

JB, welcome.  It's good you are reading Pagano's book.  Some folks have had success with Pagano's program, however most probably have not.  Having said this, few can strictly adhere to his diet and his colon care regimen (colonics, enemas).  And some of this theories are a bit "out there".  Although I feel Pagano's book should be required reading by all psoriatics I consider what he wrote to be more inspirational that something one would live by.

Pagano's book makes for a good starting point.  You have a long and interesting road ahead of you.

I think diet does help some people but I'm not one of them.  So far the only thing that gives consistent results for me is Sunlight or UVB (yes I am aware there's a risk of skin cancer).

Personally I think there are many underlying causes for P and if diet is the thing that cures it for you then that's absolutely brilliant.

Fingers crossed you will find something that works for you.
