Does anyone know where to buy...
« on: February 22, 2005, 02:48:02 PM »
Hi everyone
I'm new to the forum, and I was wondering if anybody knows where I can buy these:

Slippery elm powder (100% natural)
American Saffron (100% natural)

So far I can only find it in the US online but the postage is so high!!

I've heard people say they cleared up completely by using SE in the morning and YS in the eves

Many thanks

Fi ???

Hi Fi and welcome. Looks like you're trying the Pagano diet. Holland and Barratts sell slippery elm bark capsules which you can break open and mix with warm water. I couldn't find American saffron but I think the book says you can substitute camomile tea for it.

Good Luck

Steve

Hello Fi, welcome to the madhouse  ;) I joined yesterday and think it's great place - so friendly and informative  :)

I've recently started taking slippery elm bark powder (bought from Holland and Barret) - it's not the cheapest way of doing it (I'm expecting a delivery from another source that I'll post if I think it's any better). Just break open the capsules and make a paste with a little water, stir in some hot water and let it stand for a few minutes and hey presto, you've made a "yummy" drink - not  ;) To be fair, it's not too bad, you get used to it - I think it's better than taking the capsules as they are. In my regimen I break open 3 capsules to make a drink, one for lunch and then take another 3 capsules before bed. It's too early to make any judgements though.

In addition to Slippery Elm, take a look at the curcumin stuff here at the forum - I'm taking that too :

thanks guys...I got the Holland Barratt ones today but they're only 340mg and that means taking at least 3 a day...considering buying it online just dunno whether to buy lots to make it worthwhile. I suffer from facial P only, and its just flared up really bad and I'm due for Laser Eye surgery on Saturday. Of course its never affected my eyes before, it just decided to dump itself there to annoy me this week!
Rubbed water and vaseline into eyes and went on sunbed for 2 mins last night and its looking much better already. Its the  "Edgar Cayce" guidelines I'm using as there's a lot of talk of it on the american Psoriasis forum just now.

Hope it will stop me having to keep using the sunbed.

It's probably worth buying a larger batch if you can because Slippery Elm like other detox's usually require you take them for at least 1-2 months before you start seeing the full benefit, so it works out cheaper in the long run. Having said that, I bought the H&B caps to get going straightaway whilst the cheaper online source takes its time to get to me. I would strongly recommend adding Milk Thistle to your list too - it works well with Slippery Elm. Unfortunately I don't see any of it clearing you up for your laser eye treatment.

Good luck with the eye surgery, and remember - keep your head still  ;)

Hi I'm GitOverIt from USA and I started the slippery elm thread called CLEARING UP FROM PSORIASIS. I don't know where you can get the SE or American saffron tea here in Britain but here is the address in USA that we all get it........

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I notice that at the bottom of the page there is a telephone # for international calls ...so maybe they ship all over...it might help to ask about price of shipping.....or if several can share shipping by ordering together....
Anyway I just want you to know that I am completely clear except for some scalp P...I was 100% on the scalp...it keeps going down...and I, of course will continue the SE....you might want to read my thread on it I had P everywhere except lower legs......arms weren't too bad but I did have it there and on hands but not bad there either...the worst was on my back, spine all the way down , bun, thighs, under boobs, groin , arm pits, ears in and behind, forehead in other words a mess. Now its gone as I said. I took 1 heaping teaspoon of slippery elm twice a day in warm water about 10 ounces....one large (10 oz) Amer. saffron tea in the evening...from what I understand the SE soothes and heals the digestive tract and the Amer. saffron cleanses the system. It works as a combo. This is not exactly what Pagano suggested in his book...the teas were not as much or as often...I believe it was more like a pinch of SE. I also folow my own version of a healthy diet...not exactly his... because of some allergies etc. also feel that milk thistle is very important for the liver!
Please feel free to ask me anything you want to know about the regimen. I will check back
Sally

thanks Sally & Sue - Sally its your thread on the US forum that got me started on the quest for SE and AS. I can seem to get SE no problem but AS is somewhat difficult. I can get it on Baar but their postage is astronomical! I have found a private seller in the US who will ship me the SE cheaply (8oz) to get me started. I too am eating healthily - raw veggie salads with homemade  hummous and brown rice, healthy bread and lots of fresh fruit...Good luck to us all!
