All

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day who said one of his aunts had suffered with P and managed to cure herself with natural products. He mentioned eating a lot more fish and avoid alcohol. I have just changed my diet but found a very good website which seemed to confirm some of the things he said....

I personally do not like taking any medication and prefer to do things naturally. I am now drinking a lot more juice and trying to eat more vegetables and can honestly say, the P has slightly reduced. Lets hope I can get rid of it completely !!!

I will keep you posted.

Good Luck !

That mostly makes sense to me but this bit doesn't...

It says avoid citrus fruit then says...'Celery contains compounds called psoralens which researchers now believe can also help prevent psoriasis. These are also found in limes, lettuce and lemons.'.

Limes and lemons are citrus. ::)

I'm a great believer in vitamins, supplements and dieting "cures". I got lazy a while back and hadn't been taking my usual daily intake of :-

3x 1ooomg of Cod Liver Oil & Evening Primrose Oil

1 x 15mg Zinc

1x Multi-vitamin and iron

1x high strength Aloe Vera tablets

1x Fibre Diet supplement

2x 500mg Odourless Garlic capsule

1x Aspirin

IMO my recent flare-up was due to me not taking them.

Started again 3 days ago and already a noticeable change. However I'm not sure which of the vitamins or supplements are doing the work. :-/
Tells it like it is!

At one time or another I tried EVERY diet out there. None of them worked! But it is possible the Irsh W. hurt my efforts then.

Hi Waz,

Good on you for taking control. I'm one of the lucky ones who can also control the p using diet.

The psorelans that are found naturally in plants, like celery, are used to make the tabs for PUVA...they make the skin more smesitive to light and therefore aid relief for P through UV...

Funny to think the tabs are from plants... ;)

HELLO waz

i read the contents of that link, it all sounds correct and im totally with you with the NATURAL DIET. Just one thing "carrot and cellery juice" ewwww sounds horrible.

Anyway ive done quite a bit reading on here, and from my personal verdict, man this sites brilliant its given me excellent tips, like drinking lakeland willow water (can be bought from sainsbury - contains natural salicin, 1.5 L a day), bathing in porride oats (excellent for soothing), OMega fish oil capsules (contains fatty acid - superdrugs) and avoiding fried foods esp. meat that contains too much bacteria and quite effectively its defintelyyy working, i dont know if its the heat im experiencing this summer in these last few days or the new diet ive adapted to, but my skins lookin 60% better.

p.s. you should try the natural options given above, and read on em first from the threads on this site.
