getting p under control
« on: September 20, 2011, 11:44:27 PM »
Since having kids my p over the last 7 years has just been the worst it could possible be - about 4 yrs ago not even a med holiday would take the redness from my elbows - not even light treatment at the hospital helped.. anyway since the new year i have been pretty much full out trying to find a way to control this  ///  as some of you may know i bought a juicer back in january after reading a jason vale book & have been taking a green avocado smoothie twice a day since jan - as the clearance wasnt much from doing this i then started the jason vale skin programme - it has been 3 months ild say and am clear - now even a  few spots have come up but for the 1st time ever the spots are actually fading not joining up like before and there are no new spots - normally i get a few spots then i get loads more but this has not happened so i wanted to share with exactly what ive been doing..

green smoothie
juice 4 apples / half a cucmber / 2 handful of spinach / 2 celery sticks - add juice to blender with 1 large avocado add 2.5 tablespoon of lecithin 2 table spoon of Linwoods Milled Flaxseed & Goji Berries / 2 hand full of ice
blend for 1min - add a cap of udo oil to both containers

i have 1 smoothie in the morning and 1 2-3hrs after

supplement 1 mutivitamin 1 ideal omega capsule 1 50mg zinc

wish i knew this yrs ago but i shower with hydromol ointment  - put a big handful of hydromol into a tubular gauze tie both ends  - the gauze acts as a sponge - so i turn the shower off sponge myself with this great all in one then shower it off - so my whole body has now been conditioned - something i have never done - now where i had the spots that had come up - for the last week i have been using salcura intensive 3 times a day then sealing it with double base - - 1 week later redness gone patches disapearing - may i also add hydromol by itself has taken away some of the patches that would not shift from my back - so that is just how good this stuff is - i get hydromol and double base free on the nhs by the way

I am in the process of checking ph on a daily basis too - jason vale advises you need to be 75 alkaline to 25 acid and can i tell you when i started testing i was more acid.. im still testing so will post results at a later date.. but i get the feeling my wine days may have to be cut right back..  so for me atm the green smoothie was the start but ild say all these extra things with the supplements and the conditioning aspect is having a major impact in staying clear..

i am back eating greek yoghurt - butter is on toast - milk is rice milk..  no adverse effect seen..

I am glad you found something that works for you.  Have you made any big dietary changes or are you only eating the smoothies everyday?

How do you test your own pH?  Is it something you can buy at the pharmacy?

I guess testing pH has gone mainstream since the pharmacy within my supermarket (Winn-Dixie) is now offering to test your blood pH for $10.  I'm thinking of doing it.  If my blood pH is relatively acidic I would then reevaluate my diet and try to lower it.

yes the jason vale skin programme had massive dietary change - in fact for 3 days i was on pure green smoothies then i introduced home made soups which i must add were brill.. then came in the salmon..   yes the green smoothie was a part of the diet & ill continue this method now for ever as when you read up on the nutrition of say an avocado then spinach then the lecithin then you'd be amazed of just how much good stuff your putting in.to the system..

i have been testing ph with the sticks you can buy online for say a week now - & guess what with all the dietry change from going with alkaline foods my ph is still acidic - not too far off now but when i started i was around 6.0  now 6.5-7.5.  im guessing most of us p sufferers have an inbalanced ph - im still in the testing mode with my healthy wife so ill post more results on this when i have all the data..

Concerning blood pH, I would like to point out that the body keeps its blood pH very constant, so it never varies much. If your blood pH drops below 7.3 or rises above 7.4 your body has a very effective mechanism of keeping it in check with a system that involves buffers, kidneys and lungs. For example if the blood ph starts to become acidic (under 7), immediately you will start breathing a bit faster to get rid of CO2, and thats makes your blood pH go up very quickly.

So I do not think that blood pH is a factor regarding psoriasis, I wouldn't waste my time thinking about that and testing yourself etc.

steelem, thanks for the info.  But I'm confused.  Jason Vale was a juicing advocate, no?  You say you are doing smoothies.  So how can you be following his program if you are not juicing?  ???

Eveloftus - have a read of this

this is a snippet

We know that the body fluids of healthy people are slightly alkaline while the same fluids of those who are sick are acidic, either very acidic or slightly. Generally speaking, the more acid your body is, the more serious the illness you have. The degree of acidity significantly affects the body’s ability to prevent and/or reverse illness and disease (including such degenerative diseases as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and others). Individuals that have severe health challenges almost invariably also have high acidity. Unfortunately, acidity has become a national epidemic that is one of the most ignored or unknown underlying causes of many of the degenerative diseases of the western world.

hi steelem, the guy who wrote this does not have a medical or physiology degree, I don't know how much I would trust the accuracy of what he writes.

The pH of blood, and also that of intra cellular fluids, and extracellular fluids, is tightly controlled so that the pH stays between about 7.3 and 7.4. So it's not only the blood pH that is maintained constant, it's the pH of the inside of your cells and the fluid in which they bathe. This is done by the lungs kidneys, and buffers present in your fluids that mop up all the acidity immediately.

If the pH of all these fluids and cells was not maintained constant, you would die very quickly.
