Glycerin
« on: May 17, 2011, 11:22:56 AM »
Hi

I'm a bit obsessed with my psoriasis and finding something that will help.

I've been searching the American version of this site and there is SO much raving about the benefits of using Glycerin on the skin. So many people have recommended it on there.

Has anyone over here tried it?

I think I might give it a go...

Hi.  I used glycerin for quite some time when my psoriasis was severe.  It worked wonders for relieving flaking, and from this perspective alone I highly recommend it.  But it didn't affect my psoriasis at all, and I subsequently abandoned it when my psoriasis eventually improved due to other measures (diet, supplements).  However I recently started back on it after, like you, seeing remarkable testimonials (with before/after pics) of folks who've fully cleared their psoriasis in a short time courtesy of glycerin.  I am hoping it can help clear a couple of remaining stubborn areas on my feet.  It's way too early to see results.

I've been using it for 3 weeks, it works but slowly, you just have to apply it continually every half an hour

Continuously every half hour?  I cannot see myself applying glycerin to my feet every half hour.  I am doing it twice a day.  Last year I didn't only did it right before bed.  It prevented me from waking up to bedsheets sprinkled with flakes.   ;D

If I am sitting in a computer chair it's easy to apply it when I see it being drying or being absorbed. I feel like it's calling me to put more and more. I don't know how people put it on when they sleep and I don't want to know since it's so sticky. I don't dilute it either . I don't put much on the legs yet since it slips away too much

Hi everyone

thanks for replying, let me know how you get on
Jamie, I bought mine in Boots as well - guess maybe if a bigger quantity is required could try the internet but I can't think which other shops would have it.
It's nice and cheap though!

I  think i'll just be applying twice a day, i'm far too lazy to do it twice an hour!  ;)

Hi , I bought glycerine here and surely you can buy enough of it and it's the same as the one in store only 4-5 times cheaper comparativelly speaking. That 200ml bottle in the store lasted me 5 days so I'd recommend 5kg or 11lbs for you americans

I can only put it once a day as it gets very sticky so I try it in one scoop, 3-4 times in 2 hours or so and then do a clean up

Thanks A, I just settled for 3 x 200ml bottles from boots and will try it on my lower legs for a bit (My lower legs seem to be my trial area! heh.)

Ill have a look at Vlad's link if it works out, but probably will only apply once a day before bed or something as usually really forgetful!!

Very cheap though! Cant complain about that when it comes to a possible treatment!!!  8)

good luck to you too

Jamie
