Hemp
« on: March 04, 2004, 01:02:35 PM »
Have scalp p and have tried all the normal prescription stuff. Anyway had read on here about hemp oil and decided I'd give it a go although I'm sure I read somewhere that it had been discontinued but I'm guessing I found the right stuff, called Hemp hair and scalp treatment. It claims to help soothe flaky scalps. Had been putting in on every night for 5 nights and there has been some improvement. Head doesn't feel itchy or quite as flaky. Also brought the hemp moisteriser which is working wonders on my very dry UVBed skin! The Hemp hair stuff cost about £6.00 (for a small bottle but then dovonex scalp is not much bigger ). It seems to be a good reliever!

I know this stuff has been mentioned before but I couldn't be bothered to find the thread!

that url will give you a much better price of hemp oil. and if you mention this forum they will give a further 10% discount. The Mods are happy for this URL to be given because it's a good supplier and there's no benefit to any of us! I keep my body shop bottles though, and decant from the big bottle. MUCH easier to use that little nozzly one for applying!!
Many on here have also gone with the cling film/hemp overnight treatment. I haven't but those that have say it clears stubbon scalp p more quickly

Went to bodyshop this week for my regular fix of hemp oil and they were out of stock and told me that it is to be discontinued! I went to Holland and Barrett Health shop to try to find an alternative and they sold me Jojoba oil. Have tried it for a few days and it is rubbish for me. I feel like an oil slick and it appears to have made my scalp worse. Can we not lobby Body Shop and tell them how much we need their hemp oil and tell them how we all recommend it on the forum?
     Ever hopeful :-[ :-[ :-[

I don't know why Body Shop does this!
I was a regular customer at one time for Leap Burner Oil, which absolutley nothing to do with Hemp, I realise but it's annoying. I asked the question as to why they discontinued items and I was told it was to give the customer a greater choice ??? Doesn't make sense to me. If a product sells well, then there shouldn't be any reason to discontinue it.

I treat myself to a hemp scalp treatment once a week and it really does make my scalp feel nice and flake free. I have tried it on other parts of the body but had no success!

I have just discovered Hemp and would reccomend it to anyone ! ! !
I cannot believe that they are to discontinue a product that is useful for so many P sufferers like us, I use it twice a week and can really notice a difference.
If anyoneknow where i can buy further Hemp, then please let me nkow.

Thanks and rgds

Due to the problems with the UVB I have experienced my derm has stopped it and told me just to moisterise until I see him at the end of the month. HAd run out of diprobase so got some aqueous cream which helped a bit but I also had a tub of hemp moisteriser. Have been apllying that twice a day and although it hasn't done much for p it is keeping the skin very moist so that scales aren't appearing. Skin doesn't seem to dry out within an hour of putting it on. Only problrm its about £10 a tub and it doesn't really last that long!

If u go into my favourite ebay and do a search on hemp, theres about 4 pages of stuff - you have to sort out the dodgier looking items but theres a few Body Shop ones, and some "handmade hemp bath salts", whatever they are.
