Homeopathy...
« on: July 01, 2011, 12:32:26 AM »
Hiya, sorry if this is the wrong place but it's my first post here. I have had psoriasis since I was around 6 (although psoriatic pitted nails were passed off as too many knocks and scrapes or a fungal infection when I was 3ish). I used to go throguh creams like nobody's business when I was young and was reffered to a specialist. After many different trials i finally found 2 creams which continued to work well and stopped seeing her (cocois for my scalp and the name of one I forget for my skin). My psoriasis eased up massively and I barely used anything for a few years, then fell pregnant and was psoriasis free for 9 blissful months. However since my sons birth it has been back with a vengeance to make up for time lost.
I suffer most badly on the front of my calves, stomach, breasts, ears and scalp but have now also started suffering strange patches on the palms of my hands which I have never had before.
Anyway to get to the point, my mother-in-law has studied homeopathy but I don't see her often enough to ask these questions and honestly im dubious. I have heard of people having amazing results but never from the horses mouth so to speak.
So my question,
Has anybody here used homeopathy to treat their psoriasis? If so has it helped? Also what did you take and what were the reasons given for you using this remedy? (I ask this as my mother in law has explained that homeopathy believes that factors about your person and history effect the reason for you having psoriasis and which course of remedy you take)Lastly, how long did it take to see an improvement if it did and how much did your treatment cost?
Thanks so much for reading and in advance for any help. I hope none of my questions have been too invasive .

Hi Kris

I did see a homeopath  ... and it didn't go very well.  If I were to see one again I'd go with someone recommended rather than finding one at the local natural health centre (yes he was an official homeopath, I've checked - but he is also apparently rather notorious in the homeopath circles).  The one I saw essentially became furious with me for failing to have the ailments he thought I and my family should have - and then hauled out a pendulum to let it decide how to treat me - I paid £70 for this. ::)

However I have had some success with a Natruopath ... tho' I was going to her for more than just the P.  So I am not entirely put off  ;D

Perhaps your mother-in-law can recommend someone?

I used to see a homeopath in hounslow years ago, he didnt charge any money but you had to follow strict rules for my pa he said the following, btw it really helped to the point where my ps almost cleared up but it was hard especially if you live in a family.

here goes

drink about 4-6 glasses fresh carrot juice a day you need to drink it within 5 mins of juicing.
eliminate all types of cooking oil as they contain chemicals and use only natural butter - this includes not cooking with oil in the house as your body absorbs the chemicals - so everyone has to stick to butter or similar alternative.

he also prescribed homeopathic remedies like small white tablets that dissolved in the mouth.

I felt the strict diet did help a lot i did it for about 1 year but after a while i stopped it was very difficult especially finding the time do the fresh carrot juice and for the whole family to cut out the cooking oil

I went to Nelsons off New Bond st W1.
Saw Dr Peters (Egyptian sir name) . I don't know if he helped, or it was the hypnosis or just a combination , but I had P all over my legs and bottom and it went after 3 visits and is just remaining on my knees and elbows. Pulsitila was one of the pills and they only cost £7 so it's just the consultation that is expensive.
He is a GP so you can claim if you have private insurance.

I am on  Homeopathy for the past 4yrs now and it has brought me a long way from what I was
Have had a form of skin allergy since 10days after birth  on 70% pf my body.
I've never been on steriods externally or internally....always natural applications and internal meds which is a plus for homeopathy to work.
