You might want to try a cool bath (or shower if no bath) that's what I would do!
Benedryl is good for allergy!

Get yourself a good moisuirsing emollient like Cetraben or doublebase and stick it in the fridge for a while before covering yourself in it.

Ps. dont worry about where you post. If its in the wrong place the mods will move it to the correct place.

I agree with Gitoverit that Benadryl could help decrease the inflammation, as you seem to be having an allergic reaction to the sudocream. It also will help you sleep. Another option is Zyrtec (cetirizine).

Hey sweetskin

Try a porridge oat bath ... not too hot tho'

Put a couple of handfuls of porridge oats in a nylon sock and throw into the bath water (should turn the water milky).  I find that it helps to reduce some of the itchy & hot sensation.

I also find that a couple of ibuprofen can help with the itching but it rather depends on how well you tolerate them.

hi
i had the same problem with my p. red hot and incredably itcty. ive done the things that others have suggested. a cool bath is good and storing your cream in the fridge. i also have been getting things out of the freezer like a ready meal box or put a glass in the fridge until nice and cold and using it like a cool pack. sound silly i know but its been the only relief i can get from it. also aloe vera gel help me as it cooled it down. i hope you find some relief. i know how you feel, i too haven't slept properly in days.  jo

I used to use an ointment called kartalin which I bought from Estonia as it was cheapest there, it smells and is a horrible brown colour and it didnt help my PPP other than to take the redness down, but it did help to do more than that for my plaque, I also used in the uk diprobase which we used to use in the intensive care unit I worked on, and as has been mentioned the oatmeal baths/soaks is supposed to be very soothing. Antihistamine  may also help take the inflamation down and have an added bonus of helping you sleep if you take certain ones. Basically its a case of trying all and everything you can until you find what works for you. Hope you find some relief :)

I was prescribed atarax and it didnt take it away completely but it did take the edge off it and because Im sensitive to things like this it helped me sleep if I took it at night :) Sudocrem isnt very good for it it tends to dry things out,  you need a cream that can soak into your skin and not just sit on top. I used diprobase like I say and used oilatum for the bath when I was in the uk. Now because I live in a different country I get debuccal which is basically diprobase and we dont really have baths here just saunas and showers so I even use the debuccal  to wash with.
