Bmac,

Hey buddy, how are ya?  Well the last time I posted was probably back in Nov. when I started on the regimen.
Ya know some days I really think it's going away but other days I'm not so sure.

I've been taking three Ds and one Ibu everyday.  In the beginning I was also doing the fish oil(at night only) and on other nights I would take the Flax, but right now it's only the vitamin D and Ibu.

Even though I live in Florida I don't get much sun at all!  I work inside and when I do go out during work I only get a little sun on my arms and face but not for long.  I also work midnights on weekends so my Sat and Sun are mostly spent inside sleeping most of the day.

Do you think I should take four Ds and the one Ibu?  Does to much D hurt or build up in the body?

What's your thoughts on this buddy?

Pete

hi pete,   lets say you started in Nov..so you've been on it two full months...i'd just hang in there and give it four months.....at this time of year If you aren't getting more plaques your gaining in my book....patience is the guide... Five minutes of sun in the spring will give you 5000iu and some of the high test stuff.  here's a link by an MD which should answer some of your questions better then i can.

i would also take a multivitamin..

What dosage?, well depends how much D is in each dose I don't know what dosage you're taking.

So lets assume you are taking a dosage of 400iu..so three would be 1200 iu and if you take a multivitamin that would be another 400iu so a total of 1600iu..That should be sufficient. With the lack of more testing, I personally would not take over 2000 iu as suggested as the upper safe  limit by the FDA and the EU for long term dosage and i would reduce that to 1200 iu if I got sun.

Now ,some scientists claim this safe upper limit  should be raised to 4000 iu....I have read most of the literature and unless one had access to a lab to check your blood  levels I would stick with the FDA guidelines....so best to err on the side of safety and stick to 2000iu or less until new research tells us different.

The problem with D3 I think is this...it's not as effective as the steroid analog calcitriol converted by the kidney and some skin cells. This form we take (D3) is converted by the liver to a lazy analog which just floats around the blood and gets stored in some of the fat..... it lazily works on the Tcells  slowing the immune response by keying into  the Vitamin D receptors but it doesn't do the job as well as the high test calcitriol made by the kidneys and a small amount made in some skin cells..this calcitriol is about 1000 times more potent and why a little sun or UVB  goes along way..there is some research indicating the sun not only makes D3 but also small amounts of calcitriol.
right now we're on no lead regular just barely holding our own.....with a little sun..we get  D3 and a little  jet fuel (calcitriol) also

on regular gas (D3) we are taking, pretty safe stuff,  its converted and slooowly takes  months  to reprogram the tcells and build up some D in your blood. With high test (calcitriol) you can do it in weeks but then high test is more hazardous..

Does this make sense Pete?... well, hang in there...bj

thanks very much, you seem quite an inspiration to everyone ! I have nothing to lose and clear skin to gain.

what about bio- calcium +D3+K is that ok to take ? my healthfood guy said it would take a week to order D3 in so he gave me that instead. I have boots own vitamin d and its 12.5ug - how much of that should I take.

sorry for the questions but you appear to be the guru on this !!!

inspiration?...lol...not likely.....a big mouth  to some.. ::)

and i'm no guru, i don't want that handle..but I am happy if i can help....I stumbled on this and by accident it worked for me...how, why and for who it will work for are questions which i have no answers only guesses.

As far as what you are taking..i can only suggest read the other thread vitamin D/ibuprofen..it mentions the dosages, what others have found and their responses both positive and negative...some could not take the formula because they had side effects etc.some changed the formula to their liking etc...so read the thread and this way you can make informed decisions  about your situation.
the bio.calciumd3 and K i don't think will do it...you need D3.....12.5ug=500iu  you need at least 1000-1500 iu..Your UK brethren have mentioned where to purchase and how much in the other thread..

hope this helps..bj

Hi Bj,

I read you dialogue.

I've had P for years and been looking for something to help. Ive tryed natural medicine to snake poison, and still look like the scally monster from hell.

How's yur condition now? If I may ask?

Maybe you could give me some more precise instructions on your 3 pronged approach?

Thanks,
Andrew :)
