Hi, I've only just found this site and find it extremely interesting - your message particularly so as I have tried various prescribed treatments, all cortisone based, and none of them really worked for longer than about a fortnight. It was as if once my skin got used to a cream, it rejected it and only itched even more.
The best treatments I did find were (1) hemp oil, I used to buy hemp oil to rub into the skin, use pure hemp soap in a shower (I find a bath makes my skin itch even more) and hemp shampoo. I used to get these oils from a small place in London - they were known as the Hemp Garden - but they moved to Devon and the post became terribly unreliable. Unfortuntately after about 18 months it stopped working.
The next thing I tried was seaweed powder - first bought from a stall at a Mind, Body & Spirit festival. This worked for around 2 years but recently has provided much less relief. To find their website, do a search on Aalgo. They do give a money back guarantee if it doesn't work but I felt after using the stuff for a couple of years it was a bit of a cheek to do so!
The best thing overall I have found is the sun and last summer was wonderful - I spent as many hours as I could with my feet stuck out of the french windows - and I actually have found that burning the affected patches is the best treatment ever.
I should explain that when I first got psoriasis it was about 14 years ago. I was under great stress and it started on the insides of the legs from the groin to the knee, on my hands (my palms were raw) and feet - on the tops of the feet extending to the shin and the soles of the feet. I left my husband and moved to London - the psoriasis disappeared from the inside of my legs in a very short space of time. I worked for a while at King's College Hospital but again came under almost unendurable stress through overwork and lousy managers. I left there to go to Moorfields Eye Hospital and within weeks the psoriasis on my hands disappeared, leaving me with just my feet to contend with! The soles of the feet are now much better but I am having great difficulty in curing the tops of the feet - it no longer extends to the shins.
A few people have suggested using oats, I really must give it a go but I shall also try the Omega 3 (I am also using Flax/Linseed oil capsules) and the milk you mentioned - I can't remember what it was called but shall go back to check up.
