itchy arms & upper leg
« on: January 18, 2012, 12:40:00 PM »
From time to time during the day the p on my arms (specifically the lower arm from elbow to wrist) gets very itchy. I have tried monitoring what could be causing it but so far it doesn't make sense. I can get the itch first thing in the morning, at any point during the day and even in bed. At first I thought it was food related but am not so sure anymore. I have tried using aloe vera and the like to sooth the itch but I need to apply a ton before it has any effect. It it feels itchy when I have to moisturise then its really sore. I try very hard not to itch but as you all know its easier said then done.
Do you think that this could be from clothing friction?
I don't use any medical creams anymore and don't take any medication.
Any advice/help appreciated.

I have been using fairy for the past 8 months at least.
My itch is kind of weird. I used to be itch all over, then I went to the dead sea in July 2011. Has no itching at all until October 2011 went the colder weather started.
I seem to notice it started when I ate a culprit food that had spices in (have been extra careful since and when invited out tell people I'm allergic to get out of having to explain further) and I wore a top that was made of wool & acrylic (I have mostly worn cotton tops since).
Wish I knew how to get rid off it!

I use only fairy washing powder and no conditioners at all.
I moisturise my whole body twice a day with coconut oil.
I use paraben free and SLS free shampoo & shower gel which I get from the body shop since April 2011.

The soaps I buy from body shop only came out a year or so ago but seem to be good for me. If I used head and shoulders or anything with harsh chemicals in my skin would be very red.
My skin is only red where I have itched it. The other patches are more pink then red.
On the other parts of my body a few of the p patches are going away so I don't think that there is a problem with the hygiene regimen that I keep.

i havent used soap for years that was one of the first things i ever eliminated and i will not go anywhere near bodywash either personally i would hydrate the skin in the shower rather than feed it chemicals - as for the head & shoulders your skin gets worse before it gets better thats what i saw anyway but i still get asked now how i cleared at the hairdressers as they have seen how bad my head was - last outbreak was when i used a lush shampoo - took me 3 months of head shoulders to be come clear again - have absolute no idea why i even give the lush a try - you know i have done this in the past give 1 thing a try for a month give another thing a try - you to have to wait months for results but when the results come it really is an achievement.. so need to stick with these products for as long as poss..

so could it be the soap could it be the conditioner could it be diet could it be not enuff water - so many different factors..
