Krill Oil
« on: October 03, 2008, 02:55:34 PM »
Has anyone tried this ? It seems to have greater benefits than ordinary fish oils. Reading through the Psoriacalm posts Krill oil looks like a good source of Omega 3 and marine lecithin. Comments please. :)

Well, there's a guy, this raw-diet guru. One of the main ones, super-mega healthy people.

He said, and I am pretty sure it was Krill - that it's one of the best things in the world for us to consume!

Dunno if he eats it raw though  ??? Guess the oil is anyway.. good luck, worth a try imo.. I always meant to, but forgot about it :)

I think krill oil could be very helpful its more absorbale in thebody than omega 3 and contains some of the same stuff psoricalm has.

Only go for neptune krill oil, there is a company in the UK called healthspark who use neptune.

Thanks for that, from what I have read so far it does look promising. I will give it a go and see what happens :)

Sounds really good, I had never heard of it before but from the reviews I've just read may give it a go myself.

taking krill oil and psoriacalm could be a good idea aswell.

however  if krill is going to elp its most likely going to start showing after afew months not weeks.

ive just started on krill oil as a cheaper replacent for psoriacalm, if it doesnt work, ill get back on the psoriacalm. One cap conatains more phospholipids than 4 P-calm caps, and according to the p-calm people this phospholipid ( iirc aka marine lecithin) is the 'active ingredient'

Just finished the psoriacalm after 6 months and i have remarkable improvement, although that could be down to also using BJMACs formula too, and the stopping drinking ( except for every now and again)

bit of a risk to take coming of the psoriacalm as the doc says it takes 6-8 months to build it up in your liver. But as long as u r sure its the same stuff? What brand did u go with? I got healthspark. And did u do all of bjs regime or just vid d and ibuprofen.

Aye, the risk is in the back of my mind tbh, and im not 'sure' its the same, btu it does seem that its the phospholipids that allow the meatabolism of omega oils.

Im using neptune krill oil from myprotein - 90 caps for 17.95

Its just a bit of a punt, as i could do without having to fork out for the 6 months suplly of P-calm, particularly as im not 100% sure that that was the catalyst for improvement - as im sure you know, this is the problem with taking a number of angles of attack. If all this fails then i'll be back on the phone to emmanuelle!!

Oh, ive jacked in red wine too...

My version of BJ formula is:
1x 3/6/9 oil cap (AM and PM)
1x1200mg fish oil (AM and PM)
1x milk thislte (AM and PM)
1x 200mg Selenium (AM)
1x 2500ui VIt D gelcap (every other am and every PM) - quite a high dose, but Im quite a big lad LOL
1x vit B12 sublingual dot - cant remember strength (AM)
1x Ibuprofen (PM)
1x Multi vit (AM and PM)
1x folic acid

Also now take 1 x 500mg  krill oil am and 2 x 500mg krill oil pm

Also using alphosyl HC with no real regularity

Well, 4 months into the Krill oil experiment and things are really starting to happen. My skin is vastly improved, BUT along with the krill I have been taking Ibuprofen daily and getting a bit of sun (we live in the Middle East). Either way I am getting results which I have not been able to achieve previously. Along with the above I have stuck to a high Omega 3 diet (lots of Tuna, Sardines, Mackrel) and kept Omega 6 to a minimum.
Another couple of months should be the acid test, I will report back then.
Oh, nearly forgot also been using Oilatum which I find to be excellent if a little expensive.
