Good call Billy.  It is also used in hypothyrodism, alcoholism, and hypoglycemia.

people always have mixed reactions in regards to the 'leaky gut' issue, but i believe it plays a major role in p and other conditions... i have various food allergies, which is blamed on in-digested protein/fragments... but how do said proteins/allergens cause such havoc?

A possible relationship between intestinal structure and function in the pathogenesis of psoriasis has recently brought about considerable interest. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the intestinal permeability in psoriatic patients by comparing it with healthy controls. 15 psoriatic patients and 15 healthy volunteers entered the study. Intestinal permeability was evaluated using the 51Cr-labeled EDTA absorption test. The 24-h urine excretion of 51Cr-EDTA from psoriatic patients was 2.46 ± 0.81%. These results differed significantly from controls (1.95 ± 0.36%; P < 0.05). The difference in intestinal permeability between psoriatic patients and controls could be due to alterations in the small intestinal epithelium of psoriatics.

Whey protein?? Aren't we supposed to stay away from dairy when we're trying to solve the leaky gut problem ?

Whey protein is a mixture of globular proteins isolated from whey, the liquid material created as a by-product of cheese production. Some preclinical studies in rodents have suggested that whey protein may possess anti-inflammatory or anti-cancer properties; however, human data is lacking.[1][2] The effects of whey protein on human health are of great interest and are currently being investigated as a way of reducing disease risk, as well as a possible supplementary treatment for several diseases.[3]

Whey protein is commonly marketed and ingested as a dietary supplement, and various health claims have been attributed to it in the alternative medicine community.[4] Although whey proteins are responsible for some milk allergies, the major allergens in milk are the caseins.

Ok....well.... Got to do some further research on it as well, but not ready to take whey protein instead of pea protein (which I gave up recently)...

As to Glucosamine and NAG, they both seem to be a good solution to repair leaky gut, the problem is that the intake of such supplements  promotes candida growth as well :(
