Manuka Honey
« on: May 24, 2010, 01:06:19 PM »
A work colleague recently commented on my psoriasis, she went on to explain that she also suffered for numerous years and has now cleared apart from one patch due to a combination of Manuka Honey, Vitamin A and D.
Has anyone else tried this combination?? Manuka honey seems to appear a lot on the forum with good results. Any feedback.

taking it internally it has doen nothing for my psoriasis

exteranlly manuka honey is great for infected areas of skin, ive seen it do remarkable stuff in days for infections that would take antibiotics weeks to clear. best to leave it on and wrap the area.

Isnt this similar to what Tea Tree oil does? Isnt that from a related plant?

I have been trying tea tree oil for a while as it was in Dream Cream, but think thats what started irritating my skin abit???

Good luck and let us know how you get on please. Found lots of Manuka honey on Amazon, but not sure which are good or not?

I haven't tried it, but from reading several rosacea forums, raw honey you can get from any health food shop is good, not necessarily manuka honey. And apparently coconut oil has the same properties and is just as good for some, without the stickiness.

Yes, it is great to rub straight onto the P patches.

It is very very very very very sticky – and that is the reason I gave up.

But only a small percentage of Manuka honey has the special UMF healing properties, so firstly you need to make sure you buy the right sort.

It also goes nicely as a marinade for tofu or chicken – mixed with soy sauce, garlic, ginger and chilli  :)

How very odd that I came across this topic, sorry for digging up an old post...my brother buys and uses manuka honey on his cereal and stuff and a while back I had a bad sore throat and cold and started taking a couple of teaspoons of it a day on its own.

I began to notice spots of p on my chest fade out and nearly disappear and wondered "hmmm why has that faded out", now when my sore throat and cold went I stopped using the honey.

So I am now thinking maybe there was something to it, he was using really expensive (well £10 a bottle) organic manuka honey, my p literally in a few days had faded right out, I am stopping off to get some on my way home now!!  Fingers crossed this works for me, how odd I never put two and two together before.
