Manuka shampoo
« on: June 29, 2004, 06:21:24 PM »
I think there has been something on about this but have a friend who has P on her scalp and she was given some samples of Manuka shampoo from the body shop, she has tried them and has said she isn't itching or flaking any more and though it smells it really gives, a good lather and she feels it has been beneficial, so thought I'd mention it for anyone who is fed up of Polytar etc.

Manuka honey is an anti bacterial product so it would most likely work well with psoriasis which i believe is a bacterial overgrowth problem. It is the same studd used in hopes cream.

"Manuka honey is a renowned New Zealand product with proven antibacterial and anti-fungal activity. It is used externally to soothe and heal ulcers, boils, sores, cuts and abrasions while preventing infection. "

Ordinary honey has antibiotic qualities. I have used it on pads against my P, it did not do anything. However I have found that honey and beeswax creams are excellent moisturisers but the ones with more beeswax seem to work best.
