I am continuing the diet and whilst I aint sure if it is doing my P any good it certainly is making me feel a whole lot better - I've never hate so much fruit in my life, could do better with more veg but it is an improvement on my overall diet. I don't however recomend the tesco value soya (long life), it's awful but thats just my opinion - I enjoy the tesco sweetened version a whole lot better.

My skin feels really smooth, but thats due to the Dovobet cream which at an early stage is working really well, though I saw success with this last year until it ran out and I wasn't allowed a repeat prescription. This time I've been given two tubes of the stuff so I'm really pleased with my doctor for that one!

Well done Paul for keeping us posted.  It takes some time I'm inclined to think for the diet to kick in and really affect our P.  When I attended an alternative clinic and had  hot coal treatments, acupuncture and followed  healthy diet  I was told by the practicioner that my body would start to heal internally and that other ailments such as arthritis would begin to improve first with the skin last in line.  He was right but after 18 months dedication I gave up.  Saw no improvement to P., but felt fantastic and PA was so much better.

Keep up good work

Hugs

Note I disagree with the advocates of getting a blender/juicer as being essential to getting results

I never said juicing / blending was essential to getting results for everyone............... but I did say juicing was the essential part for me personally.

Giving up certain foods certainly contributed to slow but sure clearing of my P...............  but ultimately it was the juicing that tipped me over the edge to achieve total clearance and remain clear.

I'm enjoying the diet, well sort of - it is difficult having to find products to suit although they are out there. Thoughcream now the cream is working I'm not all that sure what I should do if the cream does clear it - should I stick with the diet or ditch it!

Maybe you should just try one thing at once.

At least then you will be able to identify what things work for you and what things don’t.

Try the cream for now. And when it stops working, or when you realise that you will have to use it continually forever to remain clear, or when you get fed up of on-going doctors visits and the costs of prescriptions..........maybe then perhaps you can then solely try diet instead.

Anyway just an idea, as the above pretty much sums up what happened with me with my health issues.

I had come to the same conclusion MadCat but it was at its worse and I was being nagged by those cloest to me to 'sort it out' even though I am doing in shape of the diet - some people just dont understand!

On the other hand, a change of diet will often make you feel better about yourself in general, which may help if you are feeling down or depressed about P.

It is a bit impractical or expensive to use the cream forever (even if it works) – whereas, a new diet (if it clears you) can be a permanent lifestyle change for the better.

The only trouble of doing more than one thing at once is you never know which treatment is really clearing you and which one isn’t. I have got confused with something similar in the past (trying to 100% identifying my trigger foods) – I tried to test too many things at once and ended up thinking it was one thing, when it was actually something else.

Only you can decided what is best for you.

I agree entirely...

1) Creams/moisturizers can easily be overused, and it seems the body then rely on them like a crutch instead of having the skin generate its own moisture.  Prescription creams with steroids are worse.  Steroids should be used very sparingly; permanent skin damage can result with overuse.

2) I am also guilty of trying too many things at once to tackle my P and then being uncertain as to which treatment helped, which didn't, or if there was some special effect due to using multiple things at once.  Eventually I guessed correctly and stopped doing what really didn't help me.  But even now I am still off gluten when I have the sneaky suspicion I am not gluten intolerant at all.  Yet I'm in no rush to go back to gluten since it really isn't a very healthy food.

Lazza, I am using Dovobet but am using it only once a day to prevent overuse and to date it is worsking with good effect. My skin is now smooth :) though there are still visable red patches but I don't itch as much as I used to - I am continuing the diet!
