Whats New???
« on: February 14, 2010, 10:20:54 PM »
I run an online pharmacy PCPdirect.co.uk I've been talking to a couple of companies including Galderma and Leo with an idea to produce a psoroasis assessment feature on the site. I've done it for smoking cessation and weight management and want to add this to the dispensary section as an interactive info site which can be both educational and advise on product usage. I have a couple of tools supplied by companies but I was wondering  whether anyone has any thoughts on what information they would like to get from this type of feature. One idea is to provide a question and answer format to determine whether it is psoriasis and what type, next would be linking products with symptoms.

I'm also looking to try out a psoriasis clinic at our other pharmacy where we can get some experts in to provide health tips and advice on treatments. It gives me a chance to do medicine use reviews too! Any thoughts would be appreciated. :-\

Shouldn't that be left up to Doctors and Dermatologists?  :-\

There is no way a person can diagnose pustular psoriasis through a question and answer type format.  This will simply lead to mis-diagnosis and unnecessary suffering.

The best person to do diagnose psoriasis is a dermatologist.

Hi , Thanks for your replies. No I don't want to replace the GP, or Dermatologist , this is really an info site and not intended to accurate diagnosis. The idea would be to advise on products for particular conditions in psoriasis. I don't think you can accurately diagnose online , but you can advise and direct people towards appropriate products aswell as signposting to sites like this which are excellent for people to discuss their own experiences.
