Only subjects with a D level >100ng/dl showed a higher risk. This is a very high level. AFAIA you'd have to be ingesting large quantities of D i.e. more than 10,000 units daily to reach that level or have some genetic issue.

that atrial fib study was in ng/dl...not the normal ng/ml for vitamin D

something is wacky about those numbers by 100

100ng/dl=1ng/ml

something is wrong about this entire story..You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

it mentions that the AF group were very few and had levels above the 100ng/dl (normally ng/mL or nmol/L)...  almost unheard of in a normal healthy population
Israeli lifeguards average about 100ng/mL, but not in deciliters ..somethings fishy

I agree bj, very weird as 100 ng/dl is as you say 1ng/ml, which is ridiculously low for a vitamin D serum level. Maybe this was a misprint or mistake and they actually meant above 100ng/ml which would make more sense.

another study from the same outfit...average D level in 9000 patients was 19ng/mL

so take your D ...getting over 100ng/mL is near impossible in the uk
