hi all.
im becky, 19, and have had psoriasis for 10 years now. i thought this would be the most relevant board to write in as im very interested in alternative therapies.
my skin has done the usual over the years going from bad to worse with ease all through high school and college and now work. My GP has always been very sympathetic with me referring me to everyone who he thinks will help. however everyone throws steroid creams at you and expects you to be happy with the very temporary results.
i recently went on a 4 week holiday to gran canaria to do the whole sea and sun therapy. this obviously dried my skin so i bought a mosturiser which decided to make my skin worse than ive seen it in a very long time, i went to the chemist and they gave me .... steroid cream.

however i also decided to buy some pure aloe vera gel. this is amazing. i used this for the last week of my holiday and came home in the same condition as i went.
now ive mixed some of this with a mosturiser given to me by my GP to make it last longer as i dont sem to be able to find anything the same in england. i want to start doing the sea salt baths and sunbeds aswell.
i was wondering how long i would have to soak in the bath for and what is a reccommended time on the sunbeds. i put my cream on 3 times a day (with the help of my gorgeous boyfriend).
my back is one of the worst areas at the minute and i dont know how i would cope without him.
he has also very kindly offered to buy me a psoriasis sunbed (are these any good?) with his student loan, but thats a year away so ill have to just use normal ones for now.
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks xxxx
