Hundreds of traditional and imported remedies on the shelves of health food shops and herbalists are set to be banned under new licensing rules
A few years ago they were trying to ban Vitamin C supplements from health food stores.
At the same time, big pharm were slapping patents on traditional healing plants from the Amazon, which stopped the traditional land owners from utilising them as they have done for hundreds of years. The question is: if these traditional methods are so damaging to health, why do big pharm want to patent them?
They were also proposing producing an official FDA approved synthetic vitamin c tablet, to replace the more natural alternative supplements that had been banned. Yep, that makes perfect sense. Not.
This has absolutely nothing to do with protecting the public from alternative remedies, it is because the alternative market is now so popular, that the big businesses are losing money.
There is now big business in alternative supplements and big pharm want their share of the cherry pie! Best way to get and keep their share, is to ban others.
Yes there are some dodgy supplements out there from scrupulous manufactures, no denying that, but this there is more to this ban than meets the eye.
It made me laugh out loud to read......”the EU directive aims to protect users from any damaging side-effects that can arise from taking unsuitable medicines”. So who is going to protect us from damaging side-effects from prescribed medication?!
The whole thing is a trumped up joke.
