Hi pags

Its totally normal, the porridge bath doesnt serve as a great moisturiser, thats why as soon as youve had the bath, pat dry your skin with a towel and whack on some moisturisers. On here people find doublebase as an excellent solution for dry flaky skin, ive only recently got it. From my Personal experience, i was given a mixture of white soft parrafin and liquid parrafin aka 50:50 a few month back and its done wonders for me skin.

This might sound a little gory, skin gory that is, if you spend like 20 mins in the bath, i find it pretty safe to just rub the dry flakes off with my hands as the skin softens up by soakin in the water. helps to ELIMINATE snow trails when your out n about!!

O well I did it  [smiley=wowza2.gif] [smiley=wowza.gif] can't say I was stunned over the smell of the porridge but, have to say after I dried myself off the flakes just fell away, and so am moisturised up from head to toe.

I have done it too - armed with a bag of porridge oats, a pair of tights and scissors I headed of to the bathroom.  My hubby gave me a strange look and then smiled as I wandered past him  ::)

I've been trying the porridge baths (with a couple peppermint teabags in the tight for good measure) for about 14 days now and have to say that it hasn't help clear my p up but does seem to make it easier to control and a lot smoother.  I'm with saas on the rubbing thing.  Not super attractive, but I always rub the top layer of my skin when in the shower/bath to remove any plaques of skin.  It does avoid the snowtrail(!) plus makes my skin so much smoother and easier to cope with.

For now I am sticking with the baths cos if for nothing but a good excuse to chill for half an hour with a good book.  As for the funny looks from family/partners, I know what you mean!  My mum asked how I put the tight on with all the porridge oats inside, I managed to explain, eventually, after picking myself up off the floor in hysterics.
