i did a lot of research into omega 3 and used this product as part of my regim to clear me, it took me 3 months though MorEPA

Finding the right omega is essential, u need one with no trace of heavy metals, high in EPA but low in gha, high dose. Th ebest one udner those criteria int he UK is MorEPA.

HealthyAndEssential.com have an offer buy 5 get one free costs about £97 but that will last you 6 months.

take TWO a day with food

Alec,

I visited a local Health shop recently and got some good advice from the very knowledgable assistant on treatments for my P.  First, some Aloe Vera Complex - 15 to 20 drops in water twice a day (make sure its well diluted as its quite a strong taste) and then some Flaxseed capsules (Omega 3, 6, 9) 1-6 caps per day.  The Aloe vera cost about £6.00  and would probably last a month, and the Omega was £6.69 (on offer 60 plus 30 free) made by Natures Harvest (something like that I think - at work at the mo and haven't got the bottle with me - will post it later).

It's early days for me taking them - but will post on the forum if things improve.

Hope this helps.

You may find the threads at the top of this page useful.  There is a group of us trialing Omega oils at the moment.

I buy these
Boots Super Strength Concentrated Fish Oil Capsules
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
and take 2 a day
my reasons are
1 I trust boots to give reasonable quality
2 no added vitamin a (which I have read is not good in excess and is contained in some)
3 3 for 2 offer
4 very high in efa (unlike some labels I have read)
EPA 330mg
DHA 210mg

Hope you find ones you like!

600mg isnt enough to be effective against psoriasis. You need to take a dose of around 1,200-1500 a day. Why is why the higher dose tablets are effective. There is a lot of detail about omega in the "omega 3 connection" by a harvard doctor pychiatrist check itout on amazon.

the cheaper tablets are just not worth it unless you take a lot of them.

Hi Stewart_H the tabs are 1g of fish oil with the EPA and DHA shown above being slightly less, is the 1.2-1.5 g figure fish oil or specifically combined EPA&DHA?

Shame we cant get fish oils on prescription
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login have some available on prescription for cardiovascular issues - Lipid-regulating drugs?
Omacor® (Solvay)
Capsules , 1 g of 90% omega-3-acid ethyl esters containing eicosapentaenoic acid 46% and decosahexaenoic acid 38%, alpha-tocopherol 4  mg
They have 4 capsules daily max -
To be safe, if you are going over the rda (my tabs say 1) - everyone should chat with your pharmasist or gp or derm or a nutritionalist

I chatted to my gp before taking my 2 a day!

Carlson's Norwegian Cod Liver Oil.
High in EPA & DHA.
No mercury content.
Excellent !!

You can get it lemon flavored.

I actually find it tastes rather bland. Not much of a taste at all.

It comes in a glass bottle and it's uncapsulated. Same as you would buy, say, olive oil. This you take by the spoonful.

Even though I have been clear for over 13 months, I still take a heaping Tablespoon of Cod Liver Oil every morning.

When it comes to taking a source of omega 3, I recommend taking it by the spoon, simply because you'll not get enough if you take capsules. Attaining the proper 1:1 ratio between omega-6 and omega-3 is important. It takes too long by capsules, particularly if you have a high omega-6 (corn oil, soy, sunflower oil, and a few others) diet.

You'd have to swallow a dozen or so capsules to equal one Tablespoon.

Here's one of many links if you're interested in trying it:

Also, here's a link to Dr. Mercola's web site where he talks about the oil:
