I saw websites and videos about crocodile oil even amazon was selling it and had 5 star rating and reviews.
i was wondering if it would work or is it a scam?.

even Chinese medicine sites seem to recommend it

If you do a search on crocodile oil, you will come up with quite a few old threads, including the one below.  I haven't reread them all so take a look at the search results that come up, as some may well have different opinions.

But that is a new one on me – never heard of it.

I did take a look i think someone got told of for posting about it advertising it which made me think maybe it was a scam or something

I don't know if it is the same thing, but my daughter in law bought me a bar of Snake Oil - from Lush.  You rub it into your scalp - It smelled very mentholish and it made my scalp a bit sore.

As far as we could tell it was a scam, we did exclude someone trying to sell Croc fat etc as Aussieguy describes so well in his posts.
I seem to remember the person selling it was actually a used car salesman and had the Croc Fat listed as a Miracle Cure 

TBH I think it would be a Miracle if it was a cure
