It's always been mainly on my face, forehead, all around eyes, eyelids, round ears, sides of neck, that I have mainly been affected with psoriasis, so haven't had really large areas affected, so haven't had to use a massive amouint of the product, also after an outbreak, the Psorasolv cleared in three days, so didn't have to use too much, just nearly always a small amount round my ears as this area would always break out again quite soon after not using the psorasolv for a while. I probably used from about 4 to 7 pots a year, depending on how many times I got affected. Sometimes I hardly was bothered at all, other times it was worse. Last year it got really bad and had it very severely on forehead and round eyes, and the Psorasolv seemed to have stopped working, then I noticed that it was past the use by date by more than a year, and bought some more and again it cleared the psoriasis almost immedietely. Then I noticed that this pot, though newer was still use by Sep 09. and was already oiut of date, but still effective. It was when I tried to buy more that I found it was no longer being made.
I phoned Potters and they told me they hadn't made it for a while because of the new regulations.
This is something I have been dreading for years. (Perhaps I shouldn't have, there is the school of thought that says if you fear something, you can make it happen, or if you focus too much on what you don't want, you will get more of it, which is why I try not to focus too much on psoriasis, but difficult when I am so affected by it.
I have been getting it more on my chest now, and though I have had it on other areas, under arms, etc, it has always been mainly my face that's affected. Funnily enough, the Psorasolv never seemed so good at clearing it from other areas as from my face, (though had to be careful not to get it into my eyes, as it would sting, probably as a result of the sulphur in it) also it acts as a kind of concealer when used over the red patches so was good in that way too.
I have tried sulphur products on their own, and they have made no difference. I recently got a product made up for me, containing homeopathic ingredients, including sulphur, cleavers, and poke root, but has made no difference. I can only assume it was the COMBINATION of ingredients in Psorasolv, working synergistically that made the product so effective. Though cannot understand why it wasn't so effective at clearing it from other areas apart from my face, though as that is the area I am mainly affected by and where it shows the most, I wasn't too bothered about the other areas, apart from the discomfort and itching. Also, I find the product a bit messy to use on areas covered by clothes, don't have that problem on my face!
I am wondering if it's the poke root that is the main effective ingredient as it is apparently anti inflamatory, (read something somewhere about the medical industry wanting it banned) but the homeopathic remedy containing it didn't work.
Sorry have to rush, using public computer, about to be logged off, library closing! I try to post again next week.
