Bicarbonate Soda Baths
« on: February 17, 2010, 09:09:33 AM »
Hi All

This has probably been talked about before, but I was wandering if any one had tried bicarbonate soda baths over a long period of time, I have read some good things about it before,I was thinking of buying a proper big 5Kg bag and trying it out for a long period of time along side some diet changes, its dirt cheap so theres not much to lose, and its meant to be good for your skin anyway.

Yes there are other threads on it!

I did it, didn't really help "cure" my psoriasis but it certainly helped with the itching!

Oh and welcome to PHO....lots of help and support on the boards so happy reading and joining in!

I found that exactly the same, no improvement but did help the itching.

Same for me!  Usually 3-4 times a week alternating with Porridge Baths.....these are my favourite as it really does soften the skin and they are fabulous when having uvb for helping with the itch in particular.  Salt baths are good if you are a scratcher and end up with open wounds, yes the salt does sting but it keep the psoriasis very clean and infection free and its the stinging I think that helps with the itching!
