thank u cancun. u answered completely to my 2nd question.
what puzzles me bout the leaky gut theory is that no distinction is made between the age p is 1st detected. its not surprising toxins r the cause for those who get it after 40, for children its difficult to understand (though maybe we r weaker i dont know)

3 of 5 patients had normal intestinal permeability before therapy. (?) (n it still decreased which is normal).

Karol,
Kids may just have a more permeable membrane in the lining and thus not need long term build up. I got Psoriasis at 4. But for most, it is aggravated by a sickness (usually strep throat) and an antibiotic.
A little research will show you that antibiotics wreck havoc on our bacteria concentrations in the gut. We have "good" bacteria and "bad" bacteria there, but antibiotics don't differentiate. Then when we are done Dr's rarely if ever prescribe a good probiotic to get us back to where we need to be. It is my contention that this change of demographic in the gut agitates the situation and accelerates the worsening of our skin. This is one aspect that the cleanses and the restrictive diets allow the body to address and heal once there is no agitation.
Hope that helps,
Cancun
cancun,
thanks for replying, u also answered to other question of mine: the relation between strep throat n bowel permeability.
i agree theres a healing diet, i read recently a study posted by dreidre earls in the us website n it also confirms the best diet for p agrees with cayce’s readings. overall i also agree with the rest of the treatment u posted in other thread. in my opinion long term effects of anti-inflammatory diets r similar to those of fasting, they probably provide conditions for the body to heal by shifting energy from the digestion to the immune system.
i still don’t believe p is mainly caused by bowel permeability for several reasons. one of them is related to the study above: there r persons with even severe p n low bowel permeability.
besides i usually prefer to talk bout general cases so as to make the discussion possible but just want to say that i never had spontaneous plaques (maybe as a kid but i had only four in elbows n knees n wasnt very safe at the time neither…).
a few months ago i got several plaques in my lower back caused by exercising (abs) directly in the floor. they became red, dry, scaley, itching n bleeding like every other plaque ive. i didn’t treat them cause all ive is dithrocream n didn’t want to risk burning healthy skin in a place i can hardly see. however i did buy a gym mattress to protect my back. they cleared completely in very few weeks. meanwhile the plaques ive caused by the bike accident n the dog bite r still as bad n thick as ever though I treat them everyday. i don’t see an elimination prob here. my diet is not that of pagano’s, but its not much different neither, except for herbal teas (i don’t include them cause don’t want to get my life too complicated).
in my opinion the immune system is completely confused.
in principle healing diets n detox treatments improve everybody’s condition n clear a few, but i dont believe thats what p is all about. (in any case its only my opinion as patient.)
