Question for PA sufferers.
« on: February 10, 2009, 05:56:39 PM »
How many of you have spent a large portion of your lives being Criticised?  By your parents, society or even yourself?

I healed my PA the completely holistic way and i know a lot of people are probably very negative about this stuff, but i can only share what has worked for me.

Holistically arthritis is caused by deep criticism and longstanding resentment towards the people who have done this to you.  Once i recognised that, began to work through it, and ultimate forgave the people who did it me - i'm now completely pain free.

You can think i'm a loon if you want, but its true.  ;D  I would recommend to anyone with PA to forget about that nasty MTX and go see a therapist or life coach.

Well speaking for myself.....I am a happy positive person and have had a good childhood and have a supportive family.  My Psoriasis and PA triggered just after having Chickenpox and unfortunately it would appear that its genetic (on my mother's side)  I am all for holistic treatments but unfortunately they don't work for everyone just the same as drugs only help some of us and it has to be a careful balance of both lifestyel choices and drug therapy to ensure good pain management!

Was your PA diagnosed by a Rheumatologist or could it have been chronic pain brought on psychologically?

^^ Yes it was diagnosed by a Rheumatologist.  He wanted me to take MTX but i refused because of the dangers/side effects and made it my mission to get rid of the pain without drugs.

I agree, its not for everyone. I'm just sharing what worked for me, if it can help just one other person, then its worthwhile.

Not knocking it, I agree anything is worth a go when you are in pain.......Arnica Gel works wonders for me when my joints are swollen!  I am on Methotrexate at the moment and hating it...I am being weaned off it.  Its prescribed for my severe psoriasis and not my PA which I am in remission with thankfully at the moment...I have had a horrible time with drugs so I prowl the Alternative Boards a lot looking for ways to manage my psoriasis!

Sorry to say this but I'm afraid I do!!

I'm very new to p, I don't and hope I won't suffer with pa. Whilst I and many others wholeheartedly agree that p can be triggered by stressful situations, to say pa is caused solely by criticism could be deemed offensive to some sufferers.  Like Luvvi, I can't recall being severely criticised at any time and although I've made mistakes in my life, I don't beat myself up about them.

I'm pleased that the approach you have taken has worked for you but I really don't think you can make such a sweeping statement.
