Scalp psorasis
« on: September 10, 2011, 03:49:46 PM »
I have really itchy scalp psorasis and have been using the scalp applications from the doctors for a long time but as they don't really work now its time to start trying alternatives.  I've started using dead sea shampoo but its still really itchy.  Any suggestions on other things to try?

Nope, i have too and prob most of us on here. I only just saw this thread but tbh i dont know what to suggest. Dead Sea Magic products have been recommended by others, not just the shampoo but the scalp mud (i think thats what its called)
I'm going to try them in conjuction to see if that alleviates it a bit

This worked great for me....

I used rosemary oil plus T-gel, and my scalp P was gone after 2 months, forever.

My scalp is usually really itchy if I eat something that my digestive system does not like. My advice to you is to try hypoallergenic diet. Good example is showed on this website:

It might be difficult but it is worth it. U need to use some kind of moisturizer on your skin and scalp. Olive oil might work. I personally use Doo Gro Anti-Itch Growth Oil which seriously works for my scalp :)
By the way I am new to this forum so I just want to say hi to everyone on this forum:)

Regards,
Adrian

I found switching to SLS/ Parabon free shampoo helped my scalp out. Greenpeople are good.

I also smear coconut oil on a few times a week, but thats maybe easier as I have very short hair

Good luck & Welcome along

Is scalp P the only problem you have? Try different oils, or SLS free shampoos.

None of that really worked for me as I have really bad scalp P, so i'm on MTX

You may want to give Aloe Vera a try. Aloe has proven effective in treating a variety of skin conditions that affect the scalp, and happens to be great for hair too- it’s loaded with vitamins and amino acids, and works well as a natural conditioning treatment.

As a treatment for psoriasis, Aloe is gentle and contains a mix of anti-inflammatory fatty acids and compounds that boost the immune system. The gel forms a protective layer on broken skin, soothing inflammation and speeding the healing process. The purest and most effective source is the gel in the leaf of the plant.

Check out this site for info on how to harvest and use it topically, as well as an article on how aloe can help psoriasis sufferers: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login Hope it helps!

Hmmm.. that sounds unlikely looking at the ingredients:  :o

Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamide MEA, Zinc Carbonate, Glycol Distearate, Sodium Chloride, Zinc Pyrithione, Dimethicone, Parfum, Cetyl Alcohol, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Menthol, Sodium Xylenesulfonate, Magnesium Sulfate, Sodium Benzoate, Magnesium Carbonate Hydroxide, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Alcohol, Magnesium Nitrate, Benzyl Salicylate, Paraffinum Liquidum, Sodium Polynaphthalenesulfonate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, DMDM Hydantoin, Magnesium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Tetrasodium EDTA, CI 60730, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 42090.

I use T-Gel every single day, but I would definitely rather not! Has anybody tried adding Rosemary Oil to the Green People Aloe Vera Shampoo? Sounds like a plan to me...
