hi, has anyone tried seaweed therapy? i read an article a few months ago on it and a guy who had tried everything then tried seaweed therapy and he said it cleared his psorasis. i've been trying it for the last few weeks and haven't seen much improvement but just wanted to see if anyone else had tried it before i buy anymore of it?

Hi there
I have tried a seaweed bath therapy that gave me a lot of relief and faded my psoriasis significantly. you have to bath each day for a month in a seaweed bath (powdered wild atlantic sea weed provided by a company called aalgo). I use this in combination with my normal dovonex cream and stick strickly to a no wheat no sugar diet.
all the best with the treatment :) You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

hi, The sea weed therapy you read  about was it referring to having sea weed baths or was it about eating/making drinks from sea weed.
I know of people who eat sea weed for the nutrients, making drinks and jellies as well.

hi all , when i was studying beauty therapy we used a range of products from a company call Thalgo, these use micronised marrine algae and we used these products for bosy wraps etc and advised clients to use sachets of it in their baths as its properties were known to help with skin conditions such as psoriasis.
In my time at college i did body wraps containing the marrine algae mud on 5 members of pho with psoriais out of those members only 1 said it didnt improve their skin , and they did seem to have a different type of psoriasis to the rest.
If the product isnt irritating you or making the condition worse then it could be worth perservering with it or even just using at times ur skin is very bad, or irritated to help soothe it , it could be the concentration of algae isnt high enough, like i said i applied it directly mixed with water to make like a mud , but there were other things done first, such as exfoliating and appling another prodoct called plasmalg gel  which acted like a catalyst and helped break down the skins acid mantle which enabled the algae to get in to the skin better they were then wrapped in plastic so which helped absorbtion too ,  all the products were Thalgo and all contained the algae though , if its the same sort of price maybe they might be worth a try,

thank you  for your info. at the moment my psoriasis is getting worse but the lady said this will happen as its drawing out all the toxins which does make sense, its been about 5 weeks now. i'm going to give it a few more weeks then will give up, i have a holiday next week in the sun so iknow that will improve it. i'm going to give the thalgo products ago too. i love this forum i wish i'd jo ::)ined ages ago!
