Spot on Tammy.

I used it in the mid 90's after my dad saw an article in his local paper. A bloke from Dorset was importing it from "Cheminova" in Spain. It claimed to contain only a zinc compound and harmless additives. It worked like magic - I was clear in days - and I even managed to get it on prescription. I thought my p probs were over.

After nearly 2 years, trials in Holland and the US revealed the true ingredients (steroid) and it was withdrawn by the Medicines Control Agency. By this time I was experiencing the side effects of steroid overuse but, despite stopping abruptly, my p has never come back severely. It's been a high price to pay though.

Needless to say, I won't be using any Cheminova products again.

Jeezzz there is a lot of scam out there that try and disguise their products of steriods with natural or non-steriod stuff  >:(!

However what about zinc pyrithione, does that actually help with controlling psoriasis, from all your comments I now know cheminova may have steriods but there are still a few poducts out there that contain zinc pyrithione. Here is couple of website that sell zinc pyrithione products

Do any of you think zinc pyrithione is effective?

If what you say is true, Tammy, and skincap contains 50% clobetasol propionate, it is one of the most 'very potent' steroid creams you can apply to the skin.

Even Dermovate contains far far less with 0.05%!

I would never, ever apply this to my skin. Never.

No wonder it has been banned in so many countries and how dare this company state 'it contains no steroids'.
