SMOKING!! A small survey! How many do and how many don't!!!

I went to my docs today to ask about ultraviolet treatment. he asked if i smoked (In fact he could tell i smoke by my voice) !! He said that smoking reduced the amount of white blood cells which is a cause of p. He didn't say thats why i had p but because i smoked he did say it didnt help and can make it a lot worse. I knew that theory anyway as smoking is pretty much the blame for everything that goes wrong with smokers. Im just curious how many who dont smoke have it and how bad it is. I've smoked for almost 30 years and its just lately (2 years) that it has got worse. I put mine down to the change. Just want to do a small survey if thats ok with you guys.

never smoked.....had p since i was 7.....not many 7 year olds smoke ......always had i quite bad.......its better now but it was awful as a kid....so cant have been the fags for me i guess they are something that doesnt help as they effect your health but i dont think they cause p

Told to stop 5 years ago for the same reasons .....white blood count , had UVB and got clear.General concensus is that smoking hinders controlling P.....jury is still out.

I was latterly 60 a day before stopping after 40 years of cigs......

I've never smoked.  I've had p for 23 years.

I didn't have psoriasis when I smoked.  I gave up smoking about 12 years ago and have had worsening psoriasis for 10 years!  If anything the smoking helped to reduce my stress levels thus reducing the likelihood of my psoriasis flaring up.

Psoriasis started at 10.

Started smoking at in my 20s, then gave it up and a non-smoker now.

Not made a jot of difference to my P either way.

Smoked from mid-teens, got P at 21... gave up smoking for good 6months ago (27 now) havn't noticed any difference with or without smoking, at one point I used to think my P looked better when smoking (dillusional im sure). All I know if smoking is bad bad for lots of health reasons so I won't be taking it up again (I hope!!) If you think you're able to... definately try knocking it on the head

Never smoked either, had P since I was about 10. Blimey... thats 27 years ago!
