Something to share......
« on: November 14, 2008, 10:30:22 AM »
Three years ago I was covered in P and 8 stone overweight. I did the cambridge diet for 6 months and lost 7 stone. Also my P COMPLETLEY DISAPEARED VERY QUICKLY. A year later I have put back all the weight and am now covered in P again, but I think this goes to show that diet plays a very big part in P. On the C. diet I had just 3 milkshakes a day, roughly 450 calories.

Like everything else....for some its diet and others its stress or a combination of genetics and other contributing factors...glad you have found what triggers yours!  For some people even dramatic changes in diet has had no effect! Sorry to hear that you put on the weight again.....goes to prove that the keeping it off is the bigger hurdle and only sensible eating and exercise does that rather than faddy diets like Cambridge and LighterLife etc!

How did you feel on this diet? It doesn't sound very healthy to me. The fact that you've put back on what you lost surely goes to show that these drastic diets don't wok in the lonf term. it's better to eat healthy and lose weight gradually, you've a better chance of keeping it off that way. Sorry don't mean to lecture sweetheart but this is something I feel quite strongly about. No offence meant though :-*

I am sorry to hear that you have put the weight back on.  With regard to th P do you think that putting thee weight back on has made you unhappy/streesed which has caused it to flare or do you think it is the diet alone ?

At the end of my weight loss I had a holiday abroad booked. Hadnt been away for years so was really a big thing. Should of re-introduced food slowly but as I was away and feeling great I went bonkers and carried on until all weight regained. For me its alcohol that puts on the weight rather than overeating. I also have an underactive thyroid which doesnt help.

I have a lot of health probs including digestion and bowel probs but on the C.diet I was healthier than ever. I didnt have to visit the doc once in the 6 months I was on it. First 3 days hard then simply no hunger and loads of energy. I have tried to do it again a few times since but just cant get started.

It is really hard to get motivated when you have these underlying health problems.  I really hope you can do it again, I have no willpower - I have tried to give up smoking loads of times, and then end up thinking - what's the point
